Re: Start of the Jellyfish Season

A hotel in Koh Samui offered first aid lessons on how to treat and prevent box jellyfish stings in March. Apart from staying out of the water, how do you prevent a jellyfish sting? 12 years ago I was stung on my knee, 100 meters off the beach at Soi 75/1 while kitesurfing. I had observed the more s...

Re: Car key replacement

When entering Market Village from the car park, 2nd floor entrance near Homepro, the key maker located in the entrance can probably make your key.

Re: Left Turn at Traffic Lights - Warning

Look at the blue sign on the left just before the lights. It shows 'motorbikes only' for turning left. https://earth.google.com/web/search/hua+hin+police+station/@12.56781164,99.95796163,11.8366766a,0d,15y,313.38874429h,89.08336877t,0r/data=CoEBGlcSUQolMHgzMGZkYWJhZTg2OTEwYzI1OjB4NGQwMTVhNGZjMzFlOD...

Re: Timber Yard

There is a timber yard on Soi 112, on the left as you travel west (inland) from Petkasem towards the bypass, within a kilometer or 2 of Petkasem. I think the road sign at the timber yard says “Soi Hua Na 17”. They have quite a variety of 2nd hand wood, not sure if they will have what you are looking...

I’m about half way through the recently released Netflix limited series “Thai Cave Rescue”. It’s 6 episodes long, available in a variety of languages, including English. I’m really enjoying it !

Re: The journey to a Yellow Book in Hua Hin

The second step was to get the certified passport copy translated to Thai and certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Kruu Oh accomplished this on my behalf via mail and 10 days later it arrived via return mail to Kruu Oh. 2. Certified translated copy of passport – obtained from Ministry of F...

Re: The journey to a Yellow Book in Hua Hin

Nine years ago I purchased my car from the Mitsubishi dealership in Petchaburi when I lived at a rental house on Soi 6. My car was registered to the address on Soi 6. I only lived there a few months when I first moved to Thailand. Shortly after buying the car, I moved to a rental house near Soi 112....

Re: 'How To' - Requirements for visa extensions etc

I relocated to Thailand in 2013 on a Non-immigrant O-A visa. I’ve done the annual renewal myself for the last 9 years. The first two years my wife and I each used the 800,000 baht in the bank method ( 1,600,000 baht total ). Then for several years we used the US Embassy letter method. When that opti...

Re: Travel to Koh Samui

So how was the ferry ride ? Did you stay in the car or go sit on the boat ? As I said above, the only time I bought tickets in advance was when I wanted to depart the island on a particular ferry (the first one of the day in my case as I had a lot of miles to drive that day). I’ve always recommended...

Re: E-scooter tire replacement/new tube.

Going up soi 88, on the left, about 100 meters before Bonkai Animal Hospital is a small tire shop. I used them last week when I needed a new inner tube in an older Suzuki motorcycle. Very good, inexpensive service. The man speaks some English. I think he can get this sorted for you.
