Actually no Prime Minister is elected to that office by the voting public anywhere in the world, it is always the MPs who elect their leader. The vote that the public has is for who will represent their constituency in combination with the party they would like to see in power, although these can be...

What do you use HHAD for?

Just idle curiosity really, but I wondered how other people saw the forum and use it. The curiosity has been sparked though by the reaction some posters get when they post items not concerned with either Hua Hin or Thailand, most notably in Current Affairs, and I wondered if this reaction was applau...

Korn expressed surprise that even though ministry officials possessed inside information about the financial market, there was no rule controlling their stock investment. There is also concern over state officials serving as company directors. That one jumped out at me as being the most telling sta...

We live in Borfai and at about 6.30 this morning our electric went off - I'm wondering if it is connected to this accident? While we often have short power cuts they are never normally at that time. I hope the accident wasn't as bad as it sounds.

barry,
That is good to hear and I wish them every bit of good luck. I apologise to them for my post as it appears now that the information given to me was an embellishment/chinese whisper on the actual situation.

I have been told by someone who has seen the boat, but not someone that I know so this may not be correct, that after the last sea trial the boat was being dragged ashore and got dropped off the apparatus onto concrete, and that this has caused some serious damage (stress fractures) which will requi...

Everyone gripes about MS and yes, they are far from perfect but their OS does run on over 90% of the worlds PCs so they must be doing something right. I'm sure that statistic is correct but I don't think it proves anything other than that MS had a stranglehold on the market from very early days thr...

Coming from Bangkok and arriving in Cha Am at around 5.00pm I was obliged to go past the Dusit, as I needed to get to somewhere near Toyota. I expected long delays as I had noticed 3 cars with police escorts already returning to Bangkok. So what a pleasant surprise to pass loads of check points wit...

I assume that list at the end isn't comprehensive, as it 'only' adds up to just over 10,000 baht. The amazing thing to me is 45 bottles of mixers!!! And no alcohol, but I assume they took a bottle of whisky in with them?
And people complain about their bills in Hua Hin....

I get the distinct impression that our friend Tyler is using sarcasm in his post; I am guessing the 'bump' was probably accidental, but even if not was not expected to elicit a beating from the bumpee and friends. A candid confession of being too drunk and flirting which could probably happen to any...
