Re: New bike path on Highway 4

I've just taken my wife to the noodle shop at the end of Soi 156 (she reckons their noodles are spot on). I was sat with her for about an hour - in that time, rather than sit and watch her eat, I was watching the road and the cycle track beyond. In that time, I saw 1 bicycle and numerous motorcycle...

Re: Why aren't there bars like this in Hua Hin?

In reply to europtimiste I mean don't try and become a 'regular' because one day you will go to your favorite Thai brothel/karaoke bar and they will just tell you to LEAVE. This isn't even taking into account that most of these places are deserted and they are also very far apart and spread out so ...

Re: Why aren't there bars like this in Hua Hin?

you can go to any western country and not be "treated with courtesy." try a café in the French countryside, north Germany, the U.S. south, midwest or nearly any small town. Foreigners are neither wanted nor welcome, or in the U.S. south, if you're not from there you're a foreigner. That m...

oakdale160 wrote: Mon Jun 26, 2017 9:49 am I cannot think of one Asian country where that is possible, not even S'pore the most 'western' country. Its not even 'Separate but Equal" that we would like and expect. Its just the ability to be in the same place at the same time and to be treated with courtesy.

Re: Why aren't there bars like this in Hua Hin?

Yeah, that's a good bar Caller . However, the bar scene in Korat has seen a few closures recently and they pop-up and disappear regular style. For example, I think the old Walrus bar has now turned into a middle-eastern take away/restaurant now. Also, the locals will not tolerate any girl bars like...

Re: How can Thailand curb its appalling road fatality rate?

^^ Thailand would need to form a police force. Or maybe just a traffic police force would suffice. Other countries have continuous road traffic education using advertising slots on TV. Why couldn't DLT do the same during the nightly lakorns when the audiences are at peak? :agree: Thailand is still ...

Re: How can Thailand curb its appalling road fatality rate?

I think part of the problem is that the Thai Government doesn't make any effort to really improve the country, so Thai people just don't give a sh!t like Spitfire said. The people in the Thai Government could improve the country greatly if they wanted to, but I think they're more interested in linin...
