Re: 2 Days in BKK - Need Taxi

The taxi's in town usually work in groups, so if you ask around, one guy will take you to BKK and there is normally another guy coming back to HH empty having drop of at BKK airport that will bring you back. The Taxi's that are based around City Beach Hotel are one group that do this sort of arrange...

Re: Using eBay in Thailand

I have used eBay several times receiving goods here in Thailand, from both the USA and Asia and only once had to pay import duty.

I was a bit annoyed, as I had already paid tax for brining the items into Thailand as part of the eBay payment, (had to be paid when odering).

Re: Poor GPS performance with AIS mobile

Google maps was updated last year to allow you to download map areas, so you use less data online when actually using the app.

Re: Pavement repairs for Petchakasem Road

It was strange to see them paving both sides on Soi 112 and Kanal Road for a long distances a few years back, very rarely see anyone walking on them, the odd expat taking exercise, and they are now mainly overgrown with weeds. Thought at the time the money could have been better spent repaving Phetk...

Re: Ryder Cup 2016 TV Coverage

Think I've cracked it, go to the Ryder Cup web site or download the relative phone or tablet app. The log on is simple but when asked for a Zip Code, enter "001", found that to be a Zip Code for outside the USA.

Only found this out this morning but looks like it will work.

Ryder Cup 2016 TV Coverage

Anyone know if this years Ryder Cup will be shown on any of the True TV channels, either Thai or English language, I see the Golf Channel is showing hour long live sections of the matches but not the full length show.

Re: Budgets set aside for repairs of Hua Hin pier

The graphic photo is looking at the Mall from 'Buffalo Bills', the metal structures are already erected.

The Car Park has been closed a long time now, probably over a year

Re: Budgets set aside for repairs of Hua Hin pier

Looks like a new Lifestyle Mall going to open adjacent to the renovated fishing pier, (land that used to be a car park).

Major construction in progress and poster naming the project 'Hua Hin Harbour 55'.

Re: Immigration to introduce 90 day reporting online

Tried to use the site last week on my Macbook using Safari, manage to partially complete the form but it seemed to lock up. Seriously this time of year it is quicker going to immigration, was in and out in ten minutes knowing approval had been done.
