Re: Hand water pump for 20L bottle

Home-Pro in Market Village have plastic hand pumps, they are in the back of the store and are cheap. They may also have filters.

Re: Help with visa

Hi, Fabman, I am just going through a similar situation. You can go to immigration here and apply for a non-O visa, as long as you have at least 15 days left on your 30 day visa. This will cost you 2,000 baht for the application, and if approved you will get the 90 day visa on the day your 30 day vi...

Re: Leather armchair to be recovered

There is a place on the Pala U road (Can't remember the name), on the way out of town, between the Pai Mai junction and the school (nearer the school). I had a couple of leather sofa's re-done there about 10 years ago, they are jut about due to be re-done. I also had 4 worn out sofas done there last...

Re: Requirements for retirement visa HuaHin

Can I get a retirement visa straight off a 30 day entry visa, or do I have to get a non immigrant O from abroad?

Re: Recent travel experience buying silk gifts, online check-in and bag locks.

I was on flights with connection through New York last year, and despite having locks on my bags, I found a note from US customs inside my case stating that my bag had been searched. Other than the note, there was no other signs that my case had been broken in to! My case is a quality make, and like...

Re: All about "Dentist in Hua Hin" Useful information.

Dentists in Asia are quick to recommend a root canal. Whenever they say that to me I am out of there. I can endorse PET's recommendation for Dr. Nana, I tried her when she opened her clinic at Soi 94/3, and had an implant done. The implant has been painless, and has settled in very well.

I think I saw a price for knee /hip replacement advertised in BKK hospital of 390,000. As for quality, I don't know of anyone who has had it done there.

Re: Govt: hellish airport immigration queues must end

I was stuck in the queue for 2 hours on Fri 28th July. I only saw 6 desks open in the particular section I was in. When I eventually cleared immigration, I noticed that there was a long queue for the priority pass! The reason given was that it was the King's birthday. I noticed on facebook that the ...

Re: Govt approves ten year visas for wealthy over-50s

I checked BUPA for health insurance, this could cost over 80,000 a year to include outpatient insurance. One question is that could the cash required be in a foreign currency bank account in Thailand? I agree that this would not replace the existing retirement visa, and would be a ploy to suck more ...

Nok Yung Coffee appears to have replaced Nalida's, but there are still some signs indicating Nalida's. Can anybody confirm please? No photo for this one. This one seems to b a management buy out - the same woman is running it, but with other staff. Still the same breakfast menu with pretty strong co...

Re: Rip Off Hua Hin

Don't know what the price of Apple computers has to do with the cost of living in Hua Hin - but when I first started living here, the Hua Hin Shopping mall was the principle shopping centre. They had just completed the three lane highway from Cha-Am to Hua Hin. We had to travel to Big C at Petchabur...
