Re: Do I need to inform Immigration?

Are you just entering with a 30-day tourist visa? If so; there is no need to inform anyone but once the 30 days are up (in-country) you will have to apply for either a weeks extension at immigration or do a visa-run. You can only do the weeks extension once in concession so makes sense to do the vis...

Re: The Digital Surgery

It's the temperature over here too. My laptops run at very high temp. most of the time in Thailand. I try to use a cooling fan as much as possible...... A probably cause for your graphics card failure as it has happened to me before with my Dell XPS.

Re: The bikers thread

22 km from Prachuap, Dan Sing Khon border market may be an additional option (wood furniture, orchids...) Yeah lovely little spot and well worth another visit as we were there July this year with our friends 'Hilux' and 'Niko13' with their 2012 Ninja and 2013 Multistrada respectively. Sorry for the...

Re: Why do YOU think the Thais are such bad drivers?

I don't think you can blame the pick-up driver in this case. The Z1000 was way too fast and the pick-up driver probably couldn't see him coming let alone judge his speed. You drive at that speed and something is going to go wrong (edit: sooner or later).....

you've no margin of error riding at that kind of speed... he must have been pretty skilled to out-maneuver the truck though. I recon I would have went into 'panic-mode' and kept the bike on it's original course.. :(

The Hua Hin Bangkok hospital crossing is talking but it's in Thai......
At the moment the green 'safe(ish) for pedestrians to cross man' is not working.

Ducati Hua Hin (new branch - more like Chaam)

Made it to the new Ducati store between Chaam and Hua Hin and met with Khun Train who confirmed that the store will open in around one week. :D :D :D This is great news for bikers in the area as the new Ducatis are fantastic bikes and having a service station so close means you can avoid the treache...

Re: Why do YOU think the Thais are such bad drivers?

Lack of policing and enforcement of penalties! Back in the U.K. if you could get away with it we would still be driving without seatbelts and using our mobiles willy nilly. Just back from a day-trip on the bike and I quite like the fact that you can drive 150Kms/hr past the coppers and they are imp...
