Re: Do you use your phone while driving.

There have been a couple of recent cases here in the UK of lorry drivers convicted of causing death by dangerous driving - while using their phones. One in particular had dash cam footage which has been shown on TV news. If you haven't seen it over there might be worth searching for. Horrific. The l...

Re: Sunday lamb roast

I don't complain when something like that happens. I just never go again. Your attitude is understandle but in my opinion wrong. The British reluctance to complain is one of the reasons that service in the UK is poorer than in many other countries. A complaint can be made politely with the intentio...

Re: Transferring a mobile telephone number

I can only tell you what to do with UK mobile numbers. Maybe it is the same with AIS. In the UK mobile companies are legally obliged to provide users with their PAC = Product Access Code. You then give this to the new provider who activates the old number in the new phone. I can't see why that metho...

Re: How to check your NI contributions & Pension entitlement in the UK

I had a letter through the door over a few weeks ago from the State pension people in UK, regarding my State pension. They were advising me to get in touch regarding my pension forecast, as I apparently reach state pension age at my next birthday. Included in with the letter, was an explanato...

Brits' resident in Thailand do not receive pension increases unless they are claiming UK residence?

HuaHin reunion in Hull

Apologies if some ears have been burning in HH - like Buksi, Lomu and HHTel - but just had a great half day out in Hull yesterday with Bamboo Grove, Limelight Paul and Joyce. A pic is on Facebook. As always though you get to wondering where some people have gone, so any info on Rune would be appreci...

Re: The new tallest building in Thailand looks like a pixelated image in mid-download

Iconic new buildings the world over seem to be hated at first. I think this will be the case with this one,we can judge after a few years. I guess that's true but still can't help thinking that many new 'iconic' buildings are just ego trips for the architects. By comparison the Bayoake One looks cu...

To be honest I would question that, because it is rare for any immigrant to Thailand to gain Thai nationality. But - open to other thoughts.
