Re: The Digital Surgery

It doesn't happen to everybody, and it doesn't happen at the same time, if at all. The first indication I had was Avast took a sudden dislike to Expat TV, and totally disabled it (would no longer work with or without Avast being active). I overcame this problem by uninstalling and re-installing Expa...

Re: Bargaining when buying a new car

As I said in the above link, I was amazed, but most, if not all were prepared to offer a discount to my friends. Whether they had stated an inflated price first, I can't say.

Not my experience at all when purchasing my car.

Re: Vietnam - Hanoi & Halong Bay

Part 4 - The Junk (V'Spirit) and Cruising the Islands plus a Visit to Hang Sung Sot (The Amazing Cave) I had specifically chosen February for this trip based on advice from a friend. He said don’t come in June/July because it will be misty. Visit Halong Bay during the Thai dry season for clear skie...

Re: Where to buy pot for fish pond

There's a place on the way North out of town on the right (about Soi 9 I think). Excellent selection there.

Re: Buy new car - Bargain

What is being said is 100% correct in my experience of almost 2 years ago. However, I took some friends to buy a car last year, and discounts were being offered viewtopic.php?f=44&t=24696 .

Yes, you'll have a few choices of Rotee stalls in the Night Market.

Re: So where's the fire?

I've just picked my granddaughter up from the school where I could the fire engines parked outside. All that she could tell me was the fire was in a building directly behind the school.

Re: So where's the fire?

I know the one near the Railway Station, and the one just past the Palace (turn right at the lights as if going to 19 Rai). Both stations would have been closer than wherever richard saw them charging down Petchkasem from.

Re: So where's the fire?

I've just got in. Saw the smoke while I was out, and went to rubber neck - unfortunately, unusual for Thailand, but Naeb Kehardt Road was closed off. Took a look down the road and the fire engines were stopped near one of the schools (closest one to Soi 51). No idea what's happened, but fire trucks ...
