Re: Hua Hin Water Jungle in 2014
There was a lot of talk on the internet about "no water" in many areas of Hua Hin for several days. Not sure of the exact numbers but many people affected and lots of water trucks about. Everything back to normal now though. Doesn't matter how good the technology is, a waterpark uses a hug...

Re: Hua Hin Water Jungle in 2014
Black Mountain Waterpark has not done as well as the owners wanted. Is there really enough demand for another waterpark in this small city.? For sure, Black Mountain waterpark will now do a lot worse but we will see how how this new park does. Seems like no coincidence that Hua Hin had no water supp...

My wife just asked our builder what the current cost for walls is. He quoted 2500 per metre.

Re: Does Banyan or Black Mountain allow non golfers to tag a
I would imagine the work being done at Black Mountain would now be finished since high season is here. Write to them both and whoever gives you the best answer, is the one you should play. The problem might be that some courses dont like 4 people in a cart. Remember that you must take a caddie as we...

Re: Homeward Bound?
Well said Big Boy. I agree completely. This is an easy place to live, with very friendly people and a very reasonable cost of living. Food, petrol, eating out and housing are all a fraction of the cost here than in the UK. The weather is always warm and the women are much better looking. Not much to...

Re: Testosterone replacement therapy
I firmly believe that high intensity exercise and weight lifting is very important for people, especially as you get older. Do that alongside a healthy diet and I am sure many ailments will decrease or disappear. You are never too old to start but many older people feel scared to try. Go to a gym an...

The Kings Cup tournament is not at Black Mountain in November. I believe it is going to be in Khon Kaen at Singha Park.

Re: Hua Hin Golf Gossip
I have heard that a European Tour event is coming to Black Mountain in February. Not sure if the Kings Cup event is going to happen at Black Mountain in November or not. Still on the Asian Tour schedule but their aim was always to have a European Tour event. Should be good for the Hua Hin area and b...

Huge thunderstorm out at Springfield about mid day. Not sure if it will hit Hua Hin though.

I tell many people that Thailand is a good place to live but a tough place to work. Samut Sakhon is not one of Thailand's best places either. Can you not look for a job in a better place?

Hua Hin is much safer than Pattaya or Phuket. Very few fights in the bar areas. Lung Per's advice is spot on.

Re: Golf course recommendation
The most straight forward greens are Springfield followed by Sea Pines. The other courses all have seriously sloping greens. No idea how Sea Pines is looking just now but Springfield is now looking good.

Re: Tourists murdered on Koh Tao
I am only comparing Hua Hin with Edinburgh in Scotland. No dtaai maai, I dont hang out in dangerous places, just been living in Hua Hin for 20 years. There are definitely more shootings here but most of them dont make the news and most of them are Thais against Thais. I have never lived in London.

Re: Tourists murdered on Koh Tao
Very hard for newcomers or tourists in Thailand to understand how violent Thai men can often get over something trivial. When you spend many years here you see it happen over and over again. You have to stay calm and walk away from these people. The only way you can hurt these families in Koh Tao is...

So many rumours flying about with all these new visa rules. Think you would be best to go to the immigration office and get info from them.
