Re: TM30 Slip in Passport

Just keep it. My experience with immigration over the years is that each officer has his/her own definition of what is required. I've lost count of the number of times I have been asked for a copy of my passport. That can be: a copy of the main page, a copy of the main page and visa page, a copy of ...

Re: Favourite Actor/Actress?

The only way to judge good actors is to ask yourself the questions: "Would I watch a film I didn't really fancy just because a certain actor is in it?" or "Of which actors have I seen all their films?". If you do it this way there are surprisingly few answers. For me that would b...

Re: Fresh seafood in local restaurants?

There are quite a few good seafood restaurants along the coast between Hua Hin and Cha-Am. The night market is still very good.

Re: Harry Kane vs Jimmy Greaves vs Dixie Dean vs Anybody Else

When I was young there were NO substitutes You only got an England cap if you played 90 minutes. There were very few international matches compared to today. Bobby Charlton's 100 caps is probably equivalent to 200 caps today. He scored so many goals because he played for many, many years. Whether Ka...

Re: BBC Axe Gary Lineker

I watched yesterday's Match of the Day. It was nice to miss the load of rubbish usually presented in the show. As for Gary Lineker. I think he should be able to express his opinions. However is opinions are both wrong and dangerous. He should be removed from the BBC, not for his opinions but for bei...

Re: Crossing Lights Out by Blueport and Bangkok Hospital

I once stopped at the Bangkok Hospital traffic lights as they were red. A police motorcycle came along side me and told me to drive on through the red lights.

Re: Hua Hin societies playing at Royal Hua Hin

I have run several societies in the past but I don't really want to do it again. However, if someone else wishes to start one I will gladly join and provide advice if required. As for the member tournaments at Hua Hin, I read a notice there that Resident members will not be allowed to play in the to...

The car tax office in Hua Hin is opposite the back side of Market Village (on the other side of the railway). There is a big purple sign outside.

Covid is over! We've all had more than enough of it. Surely the time has come to remove this subject from the forum and start threads about important subjects.

Re: Monthly golf membership

Basicaly, most of our members are members of Lake View. Members don't pay green fee and get a reduction in the buggy fee (600 instead of 750).

Re: Monthly golf membership

I play in a society that only plays at Lake View. You are welcome to play as my guest whenever you like. But if you want to play different courses you will have to contact one of the other groups.

Re: Monthly golf membership

Most of the societies are not even slightly interested what kind of visa you have or whether you are staying permanently. The only important factor is "Are you a nice person to play with?". If the answer is "Yes" then you will have no trouble joining almost all of them. You would...
