I wish in my home country (UK) the public had the same respect for our Queen.

A monarchy is above polics and instills a belief and stability in the Kingdom.

Why knock it?

LONG LIVE THE KING and his family

I'm a first category (5 years) and was a second category for 5 years in Africa. I consider myself very lucky and as a first category member one tends to merge into the culture more readily. I'm lucky because my time is split between Hua Hin which at times resembles Blackpool in the UK, and a village...

There are plans for a new airport in BK but it hasn't happened yet?

TIT

Sure, rumours have been rife about closures and sure, several establishments are being converted and sure, new bars are springing up further afield, but my guess is the bar scenario will remain for some time yet

Depends on your budget and length of stay. I'm in a quiet soi up Naebkehard (Soi 10) and there is plenty to rent, but I do stress QUIET. That is key if you are to fit in with the local residents It's has mostly middle class Thai neighbours, few dogs, 2 minutes from the beach, plenty of walkable eati...

Re: Age differences in Hua Hin

the words jealousy and Niaivity spring to mind. for a tourist to pass judgement on expats is dumb. If you've not lived here you don't know what you are talking about. your western indoctrinated brain is making judgement on Eastern culture. Stay at home!![/quote]
