Re: GBP vs THB

I'm not sure whether it's the brexit result, the coronavirus or just the weakening of the baht but today: 1 GBP is 40.81. Quite a big gain over the last week. Let's hope it continues, although the big lump of cash I had to move here for immigration's rules, is losing value as the GBP vs THB improve...

Quick snapshot.... The resort and restaurant will close on the 28th of January and staff will not be required signed on behalf of the committee. Perhaps someone with more time may be able to translate fully. Hope this helps!

Re: Water filter

If you are keen to go ahead with a filter system there is a company on Soi 112. If you are westbound you will find him on the left hand side aprox 300 meters before the traffic lights. He actually manufactures most of the water machines around that you see around Hua Hin.(Green ones labelled Hua Hin...

House available for rent

One of my neighbours has a lovely home for rent. It is located on Soi 102 in a quiet area at the end of Royal Home Home Estate, (Soi 6) being a convenient 15 minute walk to Bluport. It consists of 3 Bedrooms, all air conditioned, Living room, Western Kitchen, 2 toilets and showers with undercover ca...

Re: Looking for House insurance

You won't do better than AA Insurance https://www.huahinforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=15249 . Just give them a call and see what they can do. I second that - we’ve been insured with them since 2011 and never had any issues - one small claim that we made was dealt with efficiently. Also have to ...

Re: Cheap calls from the UK to a Thailand Landline

Not sure if this will help but I use two apps for calls from either OZ / Thailand /Korea when calling overseas. They do require an internet connection from the callers end however you can ring any mobile or landline in most countries. The first app is Viber which is free if the receiving number also...

Re: What is 5G and what impact will it have?

There will certainly be a surge in demand for data centres (cloud) to deal with 5g and 'smart' devices. Goldman Sachs currently negotiating a 2bn + deal with Infrastructure Investor, Macquarie Bank (AX:MQG) for the sale of AirTrunk. Another Australian company NextDC is also scrambling to complete da...

Re: Property Tax

Looks like our house has been listed as having both a commercial and residential purpose. Other half spoke to the Tessabahn to have it amended for residential only.

Re: Best Place To Walk Dog (not beach)

We generally go to Kao Tao which is located between Hua Hin and Pranburi. There is a fairly good walk around the lake with generally no issues from soi dogs except on the eastern side. We park on the northern end and walk 3/4 of the way around and return.

Re: Property Tax

Registered mail turned up today all in Thai with a letter attached to a couple of schedules from the Tessabahn seeking clarification of property details within 30 days. (if not responded to, details provided by Tessabahn will be deemed correct!) This same info has apparently been posted on the Tessa...

Osteopath in Hua Hin

Having lunch with my wife at market village today in the lower food court which was quite busy at the time. Ended up sharing a table and chatting generally with the other couple who were from Sweden. During the course of conversation I asked whether he was holidaying or working in Hua Hin. He mentio...

Wishing you the best for the future in Hua Hin. Personally have found the Hua Hin forum both informative on current happenings and generally quite helpful where advice is sought.
