If this photo is for real and maybe it is, but doesn't bomb squads in this country wear any kind of protection gear?

Re: Snakes in the house and garden

Excuse me, but I live up in the North-East of Thailand and yesterday I spotted a Russel's Viper just ready to lash out on my sister in law and me as we were walking around some cornfields. It didn't want to get away from us, but was calmly waiting until we're nearly on top of it. We saw it about 30 ...

Re: Bangkok Post editor removed from role

Everybody knows there are no Press Freedom in Thailand. That is a fact and nothing to speculate about or even discuss. The present ruler in Thailand, General or whatever Mr. Prajut, wants total control of the media and is closing in on his Chinese counterparts in keeping control of his countrymen. T...

Re: Driving in Laos,Cambodia and Burma

I managed to get to the top of Doi Inthanon in a Nissan Almera, but when the hills and mountains surpass 10 % in level increase above 2000 meters there's nothing left in the engine compartment. Just try and blame Nissan if you don't make it. I'm sure you will succeed and conquer any mountain in fron...

I fully agree with you migrant. A whole lot of years ago I temporarily lived for 6 months in Rendondo Beach area and had some very good and tender steaks there. Very similar in taste to the Argentinian produced steaks. IMHO you can't find better steaks anywhere in the world. Personal preference I kn...

Re: Driving in Laos,Cambodia and Burma

I'm right now in a town named Phonsavan, some 6 - 7 hrs driving from Vientiane. The roads in Laos are fine and just like the rural Thai Roads. No motorways though but far fewer potholes than in Thailand. And far fewer cars!! One lane roads in each direction which may make it difficult if your'e in a...

Re: Driving in Laos,Cambodia and Burma

I'll let you know about Laos in a few days. (After visiting the Plain of Jars). The distance from Vientiane to the Plain of Jars is (for me) unknown, but I'm told by my driver that it will take some 5 to 6 hours because of bad roads). That means you'll need to find a place to spend the night before ...

In Laos you will need a car passport issued by Amphor.

Re: Blue house book in your name

So why on earth is both Tessaban in Hua Hin and my lawyers office telling me that the blue book is a Thai-thing only and the yellow coloured one is reserved for the rest of us. The links are ok. But if the rulers say what the say, you better some up with some harder facts to convince them that they ...
