Re: Chinese boy falls to death from Phuket rooftop pool
If you look up the hotel there are many photos of the place from various sources, but nothing I could find describing a 5th floor pool. It's a terraced resort and perhaps the pool you do see is elevated, but it's hard to tell. Yep, noticed that too! Neither the resort's website nor any third party ...

Re: Chinese boy falls to death from Phuket rooftop pool
Not enough information to judge the safety of the pool. If a 40cm glass safety fence is build on top of the pool edge, 40cm plus the depth of the pool (e.g. 140cm + 40cm = 180cm) should be sufficient. Of course without parental supervision, nothing is safe for a child, especially not a pool. The sta...

Re: Aggressive Expat Drivers
Considering that the majority of expats owning vehicles around the area are retired, it makes you wonder why they're in such a hurry, perhaps desperate to get from the golf course to happy hour on time! Personally, I cycle for an hour a day when I'm in Hua Hin and have no problems with any drivers ...

Re: Thailand tourist slump continues
Down here Krabi area and Phuket is busy with mostly western tourists and Indians. One can definitely tell that there are less Chinese around, especially the budget hotels/resort (2-3 stars) feel it. High season kicks in a bit earlier down south, though the real mayhem will start a few days before Ch...

Re: Soi 94 map
Thank you. Hmmmm....... always a difficult one - we're in the doldrums of low season - will they re-open or not? Many bars surveyed today had For Sale signs up, but still open. I don't want to reject your observations, because we're grateful for the help. I think we'll leave them in, but mark them ...

Sorry, thought it was the whole project. However I think at 2:13 (green highway) is the new highway passing Hua Hin. If it is not relevant, mods please delete.

Below the video of the Department of Highway which gives further insight to the planned 'Super Highway'. Unfortunately only available in Thai, however a lot is self-explanatory.
