Re: Cheapest desktop computer in the world?

Have used them also for bits that other stores won't stock such as heavy duty power supplies and after-market CPU coolers. They're not the cheapest in town (apart from that desktop probably), but do offer decent after sales service and actually answer their emails! Only recommendation I'd make on th...

Re: Cheapest desktop computer in the world?

The spec on that machine is about 3 years old by today's standard so yes it is cheap and will be fine for web surfing, email and word processing. You could probably buy the bits and build your own one if you wanted to save even more baht!

Re: Somtawin ejecting kids with late paying parents

So Buksi, when you decided to have more than one kid here (and any others for that fact) you were unaware that there was a fee that needed to be paid at decent schools in Thailand were you? I certainly was aware of the fees required at these "mediocre" Hua Hin schools, and yes, in the gra...

Re: Somtawin ejecting kids with late paying parents

As I said before, a bin man could come up with that sort of cash..... how low on the ladder of society are we talking about here guy's. Your generalizations are getting more stupid by the minute, this one assuming that there is only one child in question - many (including myself) have several and h...

Re: Somtawin ejecting kids with late paying parents

idiots that have brought children here and can't afford them to be educated. Bit of an idiotic comment that one, what about those that have had their children here and work in Thailand earning baht or have seen their financial situation change? I suppose they are idiots too and don't deserve to hav...

Re: Building materials

There are a bunch up the Pala-U road but I would seriously suggest buying building materials outside of Hua Hin if you want to save money. Identical bricks/blocks, cement and tiles are several baht cheaper in neighbouring towns, it adds up if you need a few thousand! Have a look at this thread for m...

Re: The Digital Surgery

I want it to default to English when I type the address as well as in the Google search bar in my (FireFox) browser. The easiest way to do this (in Firefox) would be to click on the arrow next to the Google logo in the top right search bar > then click 'manage search engine's > then 'get more searc...

Re: Bangkok lawyer imperative in house purchase?

If so, how and where do I find one? :? Obviously the trip to Hua Hin would be added to expenses. :guns: Google a few companies, send them your requirements and get some quotes. If they include the trip to HH it will probably still work out cheaper than using Hua Hin based legal firms which ...

Re: The Digital Surgery

By reducing the pixel size you reduce the physical size also so yes, you will lose some detail. Other things to check are your export format (what you're saving the image as) - jpegs have a quality scale with 100 being the highest (also largest file size), 80 being regular and anything lower will st...

Re: Computers for children, charities and good causes in Hua

Thanks for the offers georgy and apologies for the late reply.

Cables, screws and manuals not necessary, we have plenty and routers are all pretty straight forward.

Will be collecting the next batch of hardware from HHHB shortly to see what we have to work with.

Re: Biggles Big Band playing in Hua Hin

I do hope they play better than market their playing. Yes, there are literally hundreds of small events, concerts and festivals around town and whoever is responsible for marketing them obviously only wants to do it in Thai using a few tacky posters dotted here and there. To get an idea of what doe...

That is correct, a different modem/router will make no difference if your upstream is limited by the provider.
