Re: Jumping through hoops in Thailand

I think the Europeans that live here in Thailand and us Americans that live here in Thailand have a radically different view of how things are and how things should be. There is definitely a clash of cultures going on here. The Europeans seem to be very content with how things are in Thailand and v...

There is no requirement to prove a clean criminal and driving record when applying for a visa here?

Western media doesn't know how to report basic factual information. They did back in the 60s, but things have gone way down hill since.

Jumping through hoops in Thailand

It seems there is a lot of discussion regarding being made to jump through hoops here in LOS. My observation is a bit different. In the west we have wonderful things like Welfare and other social services that are designed to keep people gainfully unemployed. Consequently most things we do with our ...

Re: Nicorette Gum

My neighbour buys an entire box of it (30 odd packages) at a time from Amazon at half the price they charge here. Last shipment arrived fine. Edit: we don't live in Hua Hin ... I buy a lot of stuff from Amazon as well, I have a friend in the U.S. buy the items from Amazon in the U.S. and then my fr...

Retirement Visa Renewal for US Expats - Easy

Since most of the discussions on Retirement Visas here tends to focus on UK, I thought I'd make a post on how I did mine, today. 1. Go to the US Embassy web site and schedule an appointment for a Notary. 2. Fill in and print the Financial statement from the Embassy web site. 3. Arrive about 30 minut...

Re: Nicorette Gum

Pharmacy near Makro has it. Why import? What's the name of the Pharmacy? and do they have the 100 count/pieces boxes? And can you please post a picture of the Nicorette Gum that the Pharmacy sells. Can't miss the pharmacy if you go to Makro in Hua Hin. (I see you don't live in Hua Hin, so might be ...

Re: Computer laws would give government control of internet

After this year's horses arse race in the US and Brexit. I'm not sure who to trust for news and information on the internet.

The media is so slanted I'm not sure it will ever stand straight again.

I'm not sure which one you're talking about. But the majority of insects here seem to think I'm meat on a stick. :D

Re: Why do expats settle for horrible relationships with Thai girls who hate them?

Just my thoughts. Bad relationships start in a bar, here.

Unlike the US where bars are where people go to meet. Here they are there for businness. Not condeming, just an observation.

Re: 2016 F1 News and Prediction Tournament

Been seeing reports about F1 losing GP races. Personally, watching a GP in person would be a serious yawner because you can only see the race for a few seconds each lap. That could cause a big decline in attendance.

Watching them on TV is fun though.

Hmmm interesting. I had many people say they didn't ever get a stamp, so I asked the immigration officer in Hua Hin. He said not needed after the first one.

You are right, the ministry office is a real pain!!
I was told the same thing today. Not needed after the first one.
