Re: Thailand Immigration Controls: getting tough with guests

But have we not already had reports of people being penalised for exactly this? TIT, nothing is new, just regurgitated. Albeit, I think it was the visitors that suffered, not the house master. Yesterday you wrote....." We've had a couple of reports on here where visitors have gone to extend vi...

Re: Thailand Immigration Controls: getting tough with guests

On the plus side, jumping through those myriad of hoops will take less than 5 minutes each time your mum visits (plus the time it takes you to get to and from the Immigration Office). "Let the sleeping dog lie" AFAIK Hua Hin Immigration is not very hard on enforcing the TM30 requirement.....

Big Boy wrote: " I'm sure if your evidence shows you have attempted to do what they asked since December (is when mine started), you must have grounds for appeal." Appeal to who? It is not like there is a consumer board, where expats not happy with immigration decisions can file a complain...

Re: Visa Extension and Transferwise

I take statements such as, "Just a couple of days ago there was a report from Tha Yang, where they insisted on 12 monthly transfers, prior to the extension, or 800k in the bank....no other options." with a pinch of salt. I'd love to know the source, but almost certainly it was the forum w...

Re: Visa Extension and Transferwise

Just proves...it is a lottery. You got your extension despite not having the correct paperwork.....You could have ended up in front of an IO insisting that everything had be according to (his/hers) book, which would have meant another visit to the bank. Just a couple of days ago there was a report f...

Re: 'How To' - Requirements for visa extensions etc

SunandFun. If you go back to the US on a frequent basis, why not get a OA-visa from the Thai Embassy in the states? It will give you are 2 year stay (will have to do a border run after the 1st year) and more importantly: You will have no contact with with Thai immigration and their never ending stu...

Re: 'How To' - Requirements for visa extensions etc

Thanks. I was not here in December. Can you kindly refer this agent with a name and contact info. You can PM me if it is not public. Thanks in advance. Since agents (often married to immigration officers) only are connected to one office, it is really no idea with the contact details, since you bel...

Re: 'How To' - Requirements for visa extensions etc

We have to get an "Extension to Stay" for this year, due July 21, 2019. In the past I used an income affidavit from US Embassy. As everyone knows the rules have changed. We report to Tha Yang in Phetchaburi Province as we live in Palm Hills. After the rule change, my wife and I set up ind...

Re: Asking immigration about marriage visa requirements

^^ Of course you can blame Hua Hin immigration and the immigration officer.....who can make it unnecessary difficult for the applicant with his/hers interpretation of the orders from Bangkok..... Conclusion: They want us all to use agents, so they get get their share of the pie......"Cheap Char...

Re: How old are the members of the Forum?

Don’t feel bad, Buksi, remember that youth is wasted on the young in any case! Youth would be wasted on the old. They wouldn't have the stamina or the daring to enjoy it. Wrong....!!! I know several people....10-20 years younger than me....who mentally are way older than me. Age is not a question a...
