Re: Chong Krajok Mountain (Mirror Tunnel Mountain)

So did you actually make it to the top..? Or send your good lady up there with the camera..?? :thumb: My good lady had more sense - she stayed in bed at the hotel :D Is the town name the same as the mountain (for map reference)? As Frank rightly says its in Prachuab. buksida provided some very nice...

Chong Krajok Mountain (Mirror Tunnel Mountain)

Just 100Kms South of Hua Hin, Chong Krajok Mountain is a small mountain situated at the Northern end of the town. It is located in front of Wat Tharnmikaram 2. There are 396 steps to climb to the temple at the top, which is no mean feat for an old, overweight chap like me. Enshrined in the Golden Pa...

Re: TOP GEAR

Just throwing this in - no idea if its right or wrong. I often see things like that on TV schedules, but it turns out to be a series of different programmes. 41 moments is a lot to have presented and slotted into just 55 minutes. Are you sure they aren't maybe including 5 best moments in each show, ...

Re: Christmas foods in a foreign country

I haven't. Unfortunately, my sweet tooth is restricted to the Christmas season, so I'll have to wait until next year.

Re: Christmas foods in a foreign country

I'll be interested to hear what you think of it once tried BB, the last time I had tinned cream was years ago - Nestle I recollect, but it wasn't as good as fresh cream (IMO). Devonshire Clotted Cream it was not. However, I didn't expect it to be, nor did anybody say it would be. I tried the cream ...

Mango Home Resort & Bistro

I was invited to the opening of this quaint resort in the beach town of Pak Nam Pran, just a few miles South of Hua Hin today. The opening event was well attended, and the food laid on by our hosts was first class, as we were well looked after by the resort’s staff. DSC01604b.JPG 20131229_162520.jpg...

Wonderful for people looking for a quiet inexpensive way of life.
The fact there is a small Lotus puts Prachuab way ahead (or should I say behind) of the Hua Hin I first visited.

Re: 'No Entry' signs on Chomsin Rd..??

The signs in the OP have been covered in paper, so are obviously not in effect yet. I have seen similar signs covered by paper appearing along the railway road from the station to the crazy roundabout/railway crossing. I can only conclude that US is correct when he suggests a one-way system. Of cour...

Re: Battle of Prachuab Khirikhan

I've been to Ao Manao many times, but I'd never been to the Historical Park. I decided that on my latest jaunt to the Prachuab area, I had to visit this much written about attraction just 108 Km South of Hua Hin. Entrance is free, and the natural beauty is outstanding. I used to use Travellers Cheques all of the time and never ever paid the bank one penny for them.
