Re: Political un-rest and rally

I fully agree with Steve. I believe the Worlds media is turning against the Thai Govt. on this as they see and report the reality whilst the Thai Govt. claim otherwise. The beeb website now even shows a guy being shot in the leg in slow motion!!!

Re: Political un-rest and rally

Hi BG, I can't really add to anything that Steve G has written since your/my last post. I do feel however, that if the Reds had ceded to the proposals and perhaps left a smaller, more manageable presence and just been patient, they would have legitimacy on their side once Abhisit backtracked, as I'm...

Re: Political un-rest and rally

Well BG, we will all form our own views on this. Whatever led up to the last 2/3 days cannot excuse the random murders committed on behalf of the establishment. We are reaching the end game of the current protest and foolhardy it may have been, but it won't be the last. The lyrics above are excellen...

Re: Political un-rest and rally

Well, I don't know what you are being allowed to see in LOS, but the rest of us can view army snipers openly firing on protesters/civilians, whoever they want. That accounts for the sad flag waving soul I posted about above, where you tube have removed the video and the poor lady on the bike that ha...

Re: Political un-rest and rally

I see that Abhisit finally left his bunker to do a piece on TV. He clearly no longer figures in the equation and simply does as ordered. There are reports that many politicians are leaving the Country, has anyone else heard this?

Re: Political un-rest and rally

The New York TImes claims he was shot during an interview with the reporter who wrote this: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/05/14/world/asia/14thai.html?hp Seems he was taken out by a sniper. It could have been another media person! And the British Embassy is closing: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/86816...

Re: Political un-rest and rally

Haven't had a chance to catch up on this, but why has Abhisit withdrawn the offer of elections in November?

Re: Europa League

Unlucky Fulham, losing 2-1 on the night, with the winner near the end of extra-time. They just ran out of steam, last ball generally being poor and I think Madrid were the better team on the night. Danny Murphy will regret that kick into touch though!

Many thanks all, much appreciated, it's a nice bit of fun for all here to share and thanks to those that make it possible! Higgy, pleased to see you are still around! You obviously enjoy being the enigma and I look forward to trying to work out the 'real you' next season - I never suspected...

Re: Premier League 2009-10

Did anyone notice the cameo of Seb (Lord) Coe, caught on TV watching avidly from a seat in the stands, not in the elite directors, et al, box? It does remind me of those days when we were broke and he was a huge star and running discos in front of 100/200, if that, in the then fairly new East Stand ...

Re: Guinness Gone?

Guinness, Murphy's and Beamish Stout actually all originate from Ireland. Naughty! :tsk: Well, in as much as under those trade names, they originate from Ireland. But, London Porter beer is the basis of all such stouts and was introcued to Ireland from London and then picked up by Guiness and other...
