Re: The Digital Surgery
Can you remove it from the case and plug it into the computer direct? If it is still not recognised by the BIOS or Windows I would suggest booting to a Ubuntu CD to backup the data, then reformatting the drive as NTFS.

Re: computer recovery
Yes, if it has been re-installed it is likely you will have lost your documents (unless you or the repair shop made a backup). As mentioned the recovery disks will only restore it to the factory settings - which is how it was when you first purchased it.

Re: The Digital Surgery
Does anything for that drive show up? Have you tried it on another machine, such as one running XP?
It must be showing something as you stated it said 18.4 Gigs of space was used.

Yeah, having been to enough of them now I've learnt not to sit in direct line of the stage and speakers ... behind the beer tent is always a good spot! Re: The Digital Surgery
Try going into disk management and seeing what info Windows has on the drive:
Right click My Computer > Manage > Storage, Disk Management
It will show you all of the drives connected to the machine and their status, it could be that W7 is not recognising the drive properly.

Re: Making The Internet Safe For Your Child
The other part of the equation is, if you give them access to a browser you then need to constantly monitor what they are doing or use some kind of content-blocking. Teaching them to exercise caution and discretion is an obvious part of protecting them. Yes, these things are rife on gaming websites...

Re: Making The Internet Safe For Your Child
Depends on the age of the kids as to how much freedom you should give them on the computer. Ours are only 5 and 3 so their computer is used primarily for games, Encarta and the odd drawing package. Haven't let them unleashed on the internet yet but did discover the eldest playing online backgammon w...

Re: Where to buy GT5 and PS3 in Hua Hin or near ?
I'd agree, the Wii consoles on that website are also about 4k cheaper than what they're asking for here in HH. The games (2,500 baht each in MV) I buy on e-Bay for about 15-20 quid - less than half the price!Johan wrote: My advice : Do not buy anything here, too expensive.
