Re: Can you help identify the Buddha image style?

From my extensive knowledge of all things religious, I am delighted to be able to inform you that the Gandhara style is characterized by the hair straight and flowing with the uppermost part perched up in a bun. If I can be of further assistance, do let me know. There will, of course, be a small fee...

Re: Astronomy, cosmology and space thread

How does it look through the blanket of cloud :run: I can't even get to a bleeding window (mind you, Newport in South Wales is a tad off the path of things) - hence the Internet... Though that link isn't working either. For info: pharvey can't get to a window because he is currently strapped ...

It appears to have disappeared from YTS for some reason, but good old PB comes up with the goods.

Re: The Recommended Movies Thread

Just looking for a bit of sympathy and understanding from a certain individual recently, and this is the response I get: - "Now bugger off, you're interrupting Dune 2!" (I shan't add the graphics).... Just harsh, so harsh. :( A certain individual who will undoubtedly remain nameless! :oop...

Just finished this. Very good, possibly better than no. 1, and only slightly spoiled for me by the girl with the permanent scowl and the amount of whispering and hushed voices. Looking forward to no. 3!

Interesting, please explain.
Arsenal are winning and I don't like it.
Perfectly reasonable, thank you.

Re: The Rugby Thread

I was going to tank you for sorting out my day's rugby, but on closer examination I'll opt for: Exeter-Bath 3pm Bordeaux-Sarries 5.30pm Lenister-Leicester 8pm Thankyou WRU!! It's just occurred to me that my initials are PWRU, so from now on I wish to be known as Philip Welsh Rugby Union. :thumb: But...

Re: TV series worth watching/downloading

And quite frankly I just don't know what I (or Bryn Rob) have done to deserve this distaste!! We shall await your grovelling apology  [EDIT 2] Actually makes me nervous what Episode/Series you're up to....... Well I've finished it now and thoroughly enjoyed it. :thumb: Oh, and as far as our f...

Re: Premier League 2023-24

Cracking game for the neutrals!! Cracking stuff indeed. I'd go so far as to say it was one of the best games I've seen in a long time. With City beating Villa and Chelsea beating United, it's another point forward. If you've jinxed those results, I'll never forgive you. It was a close run thing, bu...

Re: Premier League 2023-24

With City beating Villa and Chelsea beating United, it's another point forward. You really need to have a little consideration for your elders (and betters). I thought I was having yet another senior moment as I was frantically wracking my brain trying to think of when these games took place... If ...

Re: TV series worth watching/downloading

Just watched the 1st series of Gavin & Stacey on iPlayer. Way behind the times on this BBC comedy drama, but I'm enjoying it. One of the characters, Bryn, is undoubtedly based on my mate pharvey - the likeness is too close to be a coincidence.

Re: The Recommended Movies Thread

This one sounds like an interesting feel-good movie. The Beautiful Game (2024). Inspired by the very real 'Homeless World Cup' tournament. Starring Bill Nighy (one of your favourites isn't he, dm? :D ) .: Yes he is, and I'll be interested to see how he manages (no pun intended) this role, which is ...
