Well for anyone thats interested, the journey south was fine until we got to the outskirts of Bkk at about 16.30. We then got lost, lost again and went around in circles, literally! Even the Police instructions via phone in which we stated our exact location(s) didn't help. Got to the western ring r...

Well guys, an on the road update! Currently resting in the Sima Thani in Khorat after an odd journey here! Picked up the car just north of the Brit Embassy and my immediate and well thought out plan (for me) of doing a right just past the car hire place and winding my way back down through back road...

Thanks VincentD. Well, the journey north is tomorrow! And I'm now all fully prepared, if a bit nervous (of getting out of Bkk)! By the way, Chumpuang is east of highway 2. It must have been dark in the internet cafe when I said west! Guess, I have to take my own food, which my lovely lady will cook ...

Hi everyone, Thanks for all the advice. I'm actually sitting in an internet cafe in Bkk (cheaper than the hotel) with a road map on my lap. Guess, Chumpuang (Chum Phuang) is NE of Korat to the west of highway 2. Its a few K's NE of Phimai. Well, it seems staightforward to avoid Bkk although my map (...

Change of plan - I'm gonna leave the laptop at home, I'm travelling a fair bit and its pretty desperate to take it all that way to get fixed. I have access to the other halfs in any case!

Thanks anyway.

Thanks Guess,

Actually starting the journey in Chumpuang. I'll look at your route along with the others - I was hoping to avoid Bkk if I could.

Thanks to all - next stop Bangkok!

Thanks Guess - I'm a Thai road novice! I might not get a chance to check the routes in detail before I get to LOS, but 5 days in Bkk first so time to gen up. So I'd apppreciate your idea as soon as you're ready. I have to confess the express road seemed a safer way to get through Bkk if that the way...

Hey esbee, saying the UK Govt. is communist is pretty opinionated and factually incorrect. Agree about the tax issue though! :P Its a pity no-one is able to answer the OP. Whilst clearly members of this site have knoweldge of the ins and outs it would be good to hear from someone with practical expe...

A few weeks ago I read an article in the property section of one of the Sunday papers in the UK where a guy was talking about his 2-bed property investment in an unpmarket sea front apartment block in Phuket that had set him back 249,000 sterling. He saw it as a sound investment, I saw it as a diffe...

I hate jumping in on others problems - and Jaime gets the butt of these (no pun intended) but what is the "tinkering" software that Dell use and how do I delete it? I can't view the web properly on my Dell laptop. So on the main HHAD site (not forum), I can't view the names of hotels in the hotel gu...
