I doubt very much if the 'colonials' agree with though.
They would in Canada in 1867 and Australia in 1901. All very civilised and a natural progression from colony to nation. There are others.

Get a Villa Market points card,,,,,,,,,,,,,again can be used throughout Thailand, and its occasionally nice to get to the check-out and be advised, your bill is being reduced by 500 baht. Get them all - they all have special offers or discounts as well as a points = baht reduction when you 'cash' the...

craven-cottage-art-fulham-8649207-8649207.jpg My Great Uncle used to own a house in the road on the left (Finlay Street) heading away from the ground to Fulham Palace Road (both sides of my family are from Fulham) and when I was younger, in the days when grounds opened their gates at half time, I'd...

Re: Thailand tourist slump continues

I walk the beach to Takiap every day and there was probably more on the beach today than the past 2 weeks combined. Night market has been fairly busy the past couple of nights, but still very quiet on the bar/restaurant scene. Public holiday tomorrow and Bkk is relatively quiet. Yesterday morning w...

Re: Hua Hin Supermarkets

Most fruits and vegetables are far more expensive than Makro. I wouldn't dispute that. For fruit and veg I know Makro and Tesco are cheaper. But for basics I don't agree. But this takes us back to the OP's query for places near her. For me, any saving I can make at Makro for fruit and veg - and I d...

Re: Hua Hin Supermarkets

I find they all provide a different service. Makro in Hua Hin doesn't have a great range of farang goods, probably because of the competition in town. But it's where I bulk buy water, soft drinks and a few other bits and bobs. I like their wholewheat bread and croissants. Tesco's has a ludicrously p...

Re: Supermarkets

Not at the end of town you want, but gourmet market in Bluport is only 5 minutes from Tesco and the 2nd villa market is near San Paulo hospital. I mention this as the two don't always have like for like goods at each store.

I certainly accept that caller was not insulting me (apart from calling me preachy, no worry), as he didn't understand the full meaning of the word Boy are you dim. Frontal lobotomy? Alright enough with the insults now. Getting childish. Okay, your dictionary had a frontal lobotomy! Good enough for...

I don't know myself, but it is in a booth directly opposite the small smattering of gold shops to one side of the basement. I'm going to BP later, I'll get a pic and post it here.

Yes accepting that just about every definition of sanctimony you can find infers falseness/hypocrisy. Anyway, I have finished now. Sanctimony is derived from Latin and means virtuousness. However, it has been adapted and is now said about someone who believes they are morally superior. Or in layman...

Re: Govt crackdown on Airbnb, declares bookings illegal

Where I live, out in Hin Lek Fai, many local Thai's are now building pool villas and renting them out daily and they're not complying with the law of the land, perhaps understandably considering the profits to be made! Generally they're not a problem, just family groups out for the weekend but some...

Sanctimony does imply hypocrisy. Check the definition. Anyway never mind.
No, no, no and no. Not in the context used. It's there if you look hard enough.

Re: Govt crackdown on Airbnb, declares bookings illegal

Whilst only condos have been mentioned so far, I wonder if this also applies to houses. If it does apply to houses, this could be the way to close down party houses, which would be a good result. Well, where I live, the developments rules understandably comply with the law of the land, so short ter...
