Hua Hin Bar Fines

Mike,
welcome to HHAD, bar fines in Hua Hin are 2-300 baht depending on the bar. What you give the girl is entirely between you and her but the going rate is 1,000 baht.

Enjoy.

Have never done it but no doubt expect to pay something.

There are countless stores and furniture places in town that sell these items. You could also try Big C in Petchaburi, they have a big range of TVs, DVD players etc., cheaper than HH too!

I have got into Pala-U waterfall for the Thai price with it however I don't think market vendors will give you any discounts for having something that they probably don't even have themselves.

Best way to get a decent price for stuff is speak Thai and be polite !

As I expected, you'll never get near the 256Kb, its a theoretical maximum. Still 159 is a helluva lot better than your dialup modem eh? The speed will probably be better at night when there are less users. By the way what are the telephone charges? Is it a local call, ie. 3 baht for as long as you a...

Learning Thai

They used to teach Thai at WECI, just south of Hua Hin but if you want serious professional instruction its best to go to Bangkok.

Personally I found the self study with a few good books option very effective. Don't be afraid to practise what you learn!

You should be fine without booking as long as your stay doesnt coincide with a Thai holiday (Loy Grathong is this month). At these times the town gets swarmed by Benz driving Bangkokians.

Most places are guest friendly although some may ask for an ID card for security purposes.

Hin Nam Sai Suay

Its not new although they may have renovated it recently. Its more of a condo block, a lot of students from Websters/Stamford stay there, rooms are nice. No idea what the nightly cost is as most people staying there are long termers.

Not the first time they have tried this and looking at their prices I can't see it succeeding this time.

3,200 baht for half an hour in a Cessna :guns: are they trying to create a viable travel alternative or a jaunt for tourists staying at the 5 star hotels?

Expect them to be a little more expensive in Hua Hin though.

Hua Hin Bar Closing

Had a chat with a couple of bar owners. It appears there is a new head honcho here and the closing times are 1am. They usually do a drive by, flash the torch, and pull a face to let the owners know.

The shutters come down, music goes off and the beer still flows
