Re: Rabies detected in Hua Hin

He said horses on the beach have been kept under close watch by their owners.
Yeh right!

Left unattended in random fields often with no water or shade. We've all seen them.

Re: PM urged to retract the silly media rules

That newspaper's senior managing editor, Kornelius Purba, wrote that the Indonesian government should work to try to block Thailand and Gen Prayut in succeeding Singapore as president of Asean, as scheduled. It said, "If Gen Prayut does not hold a free and democratic election [by November], he shou...

Re: Thailand Floods of 2018

Should be ok in HH. However if BKK get a repeat of 2011 then if you have rooms to spare in your property, then think of a number, double it and rent it out to the Bangkokians!

Spot on. They were warned well in advance of the 2011 flooding by the US and others but took no notice. The Thai authorities are never wrong!

I said that earlier, but nobody reacted - thought it was actually last year.

Just after posting that, I read that the dam is now 97% full and Petchaburi residents have been warned that they may have to endure flooding for the next couple of months!

Re: Thailand Floods of 2018

Wasn't it the release of water from the Kaeng Krachan dam coupled with heavy rains that flooded Petchaburi a couple of years ago. I remember jetskis were being used on Petchkasem Road.

Will this be a repeat of what happened then?

Re: Tips for recycling and reducing plastic use in Thailand

It seems here in Thailand, there is more talk of reasons why we need plastic bags, foreigners and locals alike. Bangladesh was the first country to ban them in 2002. Since then dozens have imposed a ban including 10 African countries (Rwanda banned them 12 years ago) and China, Thailand's favourite ...

Re: car air condition unit repair

Re: After the cave rescue

A religious ceremony paid respect to holy spirits and sought blessings for the work.
How do they know that the spirits gave the blessings they sought?

Seriously though, I agree that something should be put in place to remember the rescue and especially the death of the ex Thai seal.

I'm not sure she wanted the job in the first place. A lot has to do with peer pressure from her brother. I think if you asked her now that if she could turn the clock back, would she still have entered politics. I'm guessing the answer would be a loud NO. But it is a guess!
