Re: Sickness - Thai wife/UK husband

I have been disgusted at how relatives have treated widowed Thais. Basically given them notice to get out of the family home prior to them cashing it in, and buying her a one way ticket home. I hope I am not being insensitive, but how the hell do they get away with this? The widow is the next of ki...

There was a young lady from Ealing
Who always enjoyed a good feeling.
After four pints of Singha
She's ready to zing 'ya
An hour with her and your head's reeling

 I like the stainless steel straw idea. where is the Pae Mia market? It's a brave ( or foolish. Hehe) man who asks me for directions. Do please check these with someone with better road sense than me. From the Phetkasem Road take soi 70... go over the railway line ... so at the roundabout on s...

Ecktually, I was being sympathetic towards the fish population and merely pointing out their physical disposition, mustn't say handicap, having to due with imbibing liquids. :alien: I was just looking for a sentence, any sentence, to use the word vituperative in. :thumb:  so I am not...

Re: being stuck with the cleaner who comes with the house

We had a control-freak landlord once. Horrible story dtaai-maai,and I would have felt the same as you. Some people just aren't cut out to rent out their homes. Some people refuse to respect boundaries (I don't mean fences, hehe, mean more... respect eachothers right to some autonomy). I shouldn't g...

Re: being stuck with the cleaner who comes with the house

We do not have a cleaner, do not need a cleaner, and do not want a cleaner. What would a landlord do about that..? Bug the house..? We don’t want a life with spies lurking around us. I hope I don't tick the mods off with going off topic here, but your post made me think of something. There is a lov...

Re: being stuck with the cleaner who comes with the house

Homer, the neighbour would have been my "go to" guy if something was broken or there were any issues with the house like a plumber needing calling in or a vacuum cleaner needed replacing. The neighbour was also the person who showed us around the house in May. He could have been the early warning sy...

The result is that I have no trouble listening to male speech but great difficulty hearing what women are saying. QUESTION--should I get a hearing aid?
a hearing aid, yes definitely, or a lady boy perhaps? or just kick back and enjoy the peace and quiet

Re: being stuck with the cleaner who comes with the house

yeah I was getting the feeling that what started as normal concern for your house (I'd be crapping it if I rented my home out too) was turning in to something much more controlling and busybody-ish.

thanks all, you've been great sounding boards.

Absolutely. I wouldn't change a thing. With no racial slur intended, is the owner German, over 50-60? It all sounds like some events in my past life here when I used to rent from one. Very nice people, but set in their ways. Pete  not a million miles away PeteC. They're Dutch, but definitel...

Re: being stuck with the cleaner who comes with the house

All I would suggest is keep your comments civil but to the point, simply say that you don’t need his cleaner but if that’s a deal breaker, you will look elsewhere - then it’s up to him!! Hi (house owner) I’ve had a long chat with (my husband) this morning regarding using (your cleaner) instead of (...
