Re: Photo Trip Report: Riding Across Nepal

I’m not a biker but your report was so interesting that I would have loved to have done that trip. Your writing skills brought it alive and loved the photos to go with the text. Well done.

Re: Thai tailor shops

I had my fitting and a few adjustments were required. I returned the following day and the suit was finished. Tried it on and it was a perfect fit.

Workmanship and finish were really good and I am happy with the result.

Thanks BB for the recommendation.

Re: Thai tailor shops

BB, I dropped into your tailor shop this afternoon and took a leap of faith.

I dont speak Thai and the tailor doesnt speak English but through sign language and photos he knows what I want. I decided to place an order. All measurements now taken and I return next week for a first fitting.

Thai tailor shops

Having searched for and read some historical posts re tailor shops, the advice given suggests that customers should use a Thai tailor and not the Indian tailors. I am thinking of having a gents suit made. Are there any Thai tailors in town which currently come recommended and what would be a ball pa...

Police checks active again

In the past week I have seen Police road checks outside the Police station, on Petchkasem Road at Market village, on the Black Mountain road near to the indoor tennis court and most significant of them all at the main railway crossing next to Big G supermarket. Last night there were about 20 cops ou...

Re: Presenting IDP at police checkpoints

I've been stopped several times and fined when I showed my UK licence.

I've been stopped several times and allowed to proceed (every time) whenever I produced an International Driving Permit (IDP).

No ifs, no buts, no tea money.

Re: AirAsia to fly KL to Hua Hin from May 18

I flew the route earlier this month and here are my observations. Check in at HH was quick and easy. We weren't sure if we could park our motorbike in the airport car park overnight so decided to ask at the information desk. They have a system..they fill in a form with your bike number plate, charge...

There is certainly an AA office in the terminal building (on the left as you enter) but don't know if they sell tickets.

Re: AirAsia to fly KL to Hua Hin from May 18

Buksida, I have booked my flight tickets for the middle of November. I have read differing reports on Trip Advisor about the Air Asia check in at KL airport on the return leg. Some say it is extremely busy and slow to get through and others seem to have gone through quickly. My return journey to HH ...

Re: AirAsia to fly KL to Hua Hin from May 18

Does anyone have current info re the Air Asia flights from HH to KL.

I am thinking of flying to KL and back in the middle of November. The Air Asia website is taking bookings but state "Flights subject to obtaining Government approval"

Will this approval be forthcoming?
