Car hire

How much does it cost to rent a nice car with a driver, by the day, to see around HH area ? Is it as well to do a deal with a taxi hirer ? I don't exactly need a stretch-limmo, just something with air-con and a bit of leg-room !

House/villa/condo/hotel required to rent over New Year.

I am returning to HH for a 3-week holiday, arriving 30th December and departing 17th January, although I want to take a week out in the middle to visit Phi-Phi area. Can anyone recommend good quality, quiet accommodation - travelling solo, but may have a friend to stayover - in the vicinity of Hua-H...

Taxis BKK/HH/BKK

Interesting topic. Transfers from BKK to HH and the alleged closure of HH airport etc. Bangkok Air run a good service with truly delightful air-hostesses, but to my chagrin, they are closed at New Year when I am flying in from Scotland on the 30th Dec. It would be ideal to do a deal for a two-way ta...

Hilton Rooftop Restaurant

I can only say the food there is excellent and of a standard equal to any restaurant of its kind. I was about 4500 baht a skull but we ate high on the hog and in European terms it was excellent quality and fair value. By local standards it was of course, expensive. But as a "last night treat&qu...

sea-frog bar.

8) Thanks for that but I don't recognise anyone ! Looks like an old site. If Wanida is there doing her waitress thing, you will get a warm welcome if you mention Philip ! Nothing untoward, just sanuk !

whilst I can appreciate that using a helmet in the Hua-Hin heat is like riding around with an oven on your head, if it keeps your brains off the road when/if you fall, it must be better.........wear the lid !

Hey if we all rated the same place, there would be an almighty stampede to the "best bar in town" !! I'm certainly in favour of a reliable and updated rating "league" - it keeps the also-rans honest........!!

progress ?

Someone always wants to change the status quo in the alleged name of "progress" but like most of us, I suspect, I am endeared by the authentic charm and culture of the existing Hua-Hin and see no real imperative for radical change ! I stayed at the Hilton in early January and found it to b...
