We're always "cockroaches", until you need us.
This "cockroach" has had enough of this kind of crap, and I doubt I will bother to post on here any longer.

Re: bad man from fitness at market village
I should also mention that after you have a Canadian court order, you do not have to collect the money from him every month. The Canadian government will do this for you.

Re: bad man from fitness at market village
I would tell him he must help pay to look after the child or you will claim against him for child support in Canada. Tell him you have talked with a Canadian lawyer. This will for sure get his attention. Child support in Canada is determined based on his income and assets such as property, and would...

Re: House rental problem
Yes, we will out of this rental when the contract is running out in a few month. But till that time we are thinking about abatement of rent. Has anybody experience with that ? By abatement I assume you mean not paying a portion of the rent? Not a good idea unless you negotiate this with the owner f...

Re: Married and a bun in the oven
OK, in my case, if my wife should die first, we intend leaving our property to my (Thai) son, with a clause that I should be permitted to live there until death. We haven't done it yet - would that suffice? In the west, wills can be revocable or irrevocable. Irrevocable means the will cannot be cha...

Re: Married and a bun in the oven
What happens if the gf dies in a road accident? You are most likely going to be told to leave by the relatives who want to claim their inheritance. If you are not on title they can show up with the police and tell you to get out w/o notice. Better to have property in your name. Wouldn't a will cove...

Re: Married and a bun in the oven
I really hope it works out for the couple. There are many successfull marriages here with Thai and falangs, myself included. Having said that, if you buy assets before marriage in your home country you would put them in your own name, be it real estate or vehicles. If the partner objects to that, th...

[quote="dtaai-maai"]Advocate, you offer some good advice sometimes  , but one of one of the main problems I have with your on-line persona is that you sometimes start from a worst case scenario. No offense intended. :) To be fair, the OP seems to be doing the same. But I have to sa...

Re: Married and a bun in the oven
Ah the pros and cons of a registered Thai marriage, that old chestnut. Putting aside personal opinions here's a couple of pros to add to. Pros Right to stay in Thailand based on marriage for under 50s. Child will be legitimate. Facilitate visas for wife and child travelling or living outside Thaila...

Re: Married and a bun in the oven
To have the kid in his name the hospital will need to see his passport or a copy of, that's it. That's all I needed. My lads got his British passport etc. This is correct, but it gives you no rights under Thai law. Wasn't intended too. He's got my Surname and a Brit passport. Sorted. If that's all ...

Re: Married and a bun in the oven
He should put any vehicles he buys in his own name. If she says he is not allowed to do so that should raise a red flag. If he insists on signing marriage papers, and buying property, best to buy the property before marriage and put it in a company name. Anything he puts in her name she will conside...
