Re: Credit Card from a Thai bank

I had no problem using my kasikorn account details for Pay Pal. but E bay would not recognize the Kasikorn virtual card although I have used it for online purchases from other suppliers. But not airline tickets. According to the Kasikorns web site a foreigner can get a credit card if they have an in...

Re: Depression / Bipolar Disorder

Shame about this really. Depression is real. Yes people can feel down or "fed up" and that is a normal part of life and death. There is no comparison between that and clinical depression or the depressive cycle of a Bi Polar sufferer . No one knows what causes it and anyone who claims othe...

If there is room on the pavement between food stalls / tuk tuk shops, bar girls, motorcycles, street signs, trees and other farangs! Pedestrianise it and it becomes another market!!

Re: Optical in HH

Hi. Try Time Optic near to the shopping mall in Hua Hin. They have a lab of their own unlike most others which are basically franchised shops. After sale service for repairs etc is excellent and I've never had to pay.

Re: When Soi Dog's Attack...

Around here there are some very well behaved cow dogs who are neutered. Makes sense when they have to work not go chasing bitches (...hmmm!). I wish neutering dogs was more prevalent as although feral dogs have a very short life span too many pups are born to replace them! They have an even shorter ...

Re: Are You Overweight?

I find most of the bread produced here tastes sweet (better for a Thai ice cream sandwich?) and even after all these years can't eat it. Thankfully you can get decent bread easier now. The heat generally puts most people off eating but then you have to balance that against Thai food which is so deli...

Re: Retirement in Thailand?

Left out several suggestions. How about 'we did, are bored, maybe we shouldn't have!' and ' One of us more content than the other!'
It's hard for farang wives and Thai wives who have been abroad for many years.

Re: Snakes in Thailand

Had many snakes in parts of our garden and out on the road. Many are harmless and very beautiful (e.g tree snakes). Some dangerous such as cobras (spitting and otherwise!) and vipers of all varieties. Very large pythons have also been spotted (large as in 'is that a tree fallen across the road?') Th...
