Mid-range hotel central Hua Hin
Hi all. Looking for hotel walking distance from central Hua Hin Jan 28 for just 4 nights. Near the beach. Price range up to max 2K THB. A/C, separate bedroom and balcony ideal. I remember you guys mentioning a place near the beach some time ago, had same-word-twice name, like Tara Tara?

Thanks Charleyboy, that is helpful. Jimmycharleyboy wrote:The traffic congestion has eased recently in Cha-am due to the local authority building a new roundabout. It's about 300 metres before the lights if you're coming from Bangkok and takes you to the north side of Cha-am beach.

...fair enough TT, but so far you are the only poster we've heard from that has seen both Samudra, and other condos to compare it to... Well, I have spent a whole week doing nothing else but looking at condos ... (I actually was buffled by seeing totally misdesigned condos there, like "The Bre...

Re: Jimmy Canuck update re buying a condo in Hua Hin/Cha Am
Will look up Palm Hills as we respect your opinion... Jimmy I'm sure there are better qualified people than me to give you input on this forum, and I know "quality" has a different meaning to everyone. Please note that Palm Hills is totally different than the Samudra, it's a golf course s...

Re: Jimmy Canuck update re buying a condo in Hua Hin/Cha Am
Both are worthy of a good look-see at different times of the week which takes time - and sadly involves a lot of lounging around in bars and restaurants! It's hard work, but worth the effort. thanks! that's a real shame, that we would have to apply ourselves to a nice beachfront restaurant or bar t...

2nd chile, awesome! Member... does that mean I can drink with you guys now?? Yes, but you have to buy! When we visit we usually stay in Cha Am and the main road to the beach, and the beach road, get real busy but that is all we see. Could be we aren't there enough though. thanks for info. ...

Re: Jimmy Canuck update re buying a condo in Hua Hin/Cha Am
weekend traffic snarls in Hua Hin While I agree with that, I can't believe you are saying Cha-Am is better. The last time (a while ago, because I learned my lesson) we tried to have lunch in Cha-Am on Saturday, it took us 45 minutes to get from the traffic light to the beach. I've never seen traffi...

Re: Jimmy Canuck update re buying a condo in Hua Hin/Cha Am
Thanks Squire, just the kind of details we can't see, as we are not familiar with the area. All the best, Jimmy. Cha-am is larger than Khao Takieb, and is preferable for me coz I don't have to deal with the weekend traffic snarls in Hua Hin, and as I live in Bangkok, it's slightly more convenient. ...

Re: Jimmy Canuck update re buying a condo in Hua Hin/Cha Am
Hi Jimmy - Cha-Am town is - IMO - a nice place. But very different to HuaHin. It does have it's fair share of expats these days with a reasonable number of bars/restaurants etc, but it's a funny little town to get around. You need to have time there I think before deciding whether it's the place fo...

Re: Jimmy Canuck update re buying a condo in Hua Hin/Cha Am
One example, confirmed as currently avail, is a 101 sq/m 2bd/2ba at Baan Talay Samran in Cha Am, for around 3.8MB. I'm not sure if I can mention the website listing it, so I won't, but do any of you have any info or comments on that building? A beachfront prop, villas running up a ways and the 4 st...

Re: Jimmy Canuck update re buying a condo in Hua Hin/Cha Am
You are doing the right thing, if you are not 100% comfortable with the decision than you shouldn't proceed. One of the most important thing is to remember the "6% guaranteed rental income" is not guranteed regardless of whatever they tell you. Good exampe is the scandal at The Banyan Res...

Jimmy Canuck update re buying a condo in Hua Hin/Cha Am
Hello all. Been a bit bashful about posting for a while, as you were all extremely helpful with all kinds of advice and input, and I we have still not moved ahead on our planned purchase... we went as far as arranging financing (the deadline we mentioned), which was fully completed, but waffled long...

Re: Thai condo owners not paying maint fees?
After the $#*! hit the financial and real estate markets the number of deadbeats skyrocketed in Hawaii. I have lived here for 20+ years, all in condos, but it has never been an issue until the last 5-6 years. As the deadbeats are being foreclosed on, fortunately we are getting back to the "nor...
