Bkk-HH air service

When I first visited HH, it was a stop on the old Bangkok Airways service from Don Muang to Koh Samui, but they stopped because it wasn't profitable -- the Thais preferred to drive & they are the main market. It looks like SGA has come to the same conclusion, hence their reference to the road. I...

SGA calls it a day for BKK-HH service

Just received this from a friend in the travel business: SGA Closes Bangkok-Hua Hin Air Link SGA Airlines today announced that due to the progress made on the road from Bangkok to Hua Hin, it would end its flight service. The last SGA flight will be SE 904, departing from Hua Hin for Bangkok at 14....

Map

P.S. Using the scant details provided, here is a map showing the rough location of the 'new' immigration office. Google says it is 104km from HH -- fancy hitch-hiking, anyone? http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=khlong+wan,+Prachuap+Khiri+Khan,+Thailand&...

Reviving the trek to Sing Khon!

If, as seems likely, they're moving back to the old place (which is actually about 10-20km from Prachuap), then life is going to be VERY jolly. That place was a real journey! I did my original visa & stuff there back in '05, but mostly it was handled by the school I was working for in Samroiyot ...

Re: New driving range

Looks like they have built a new range out on the Pala U falls road, maybe about 3-4 klicks out, on the left. I tried that place a few weeks ago. It's quite nice, as it is never busy & pretty quiet. A little more expensive (relatively speaking) but it does have a roof (which some ranges don't) ...

Go south, young man!

Thanks a lot for all that thought-provoking info on Malaysia, guys. I have been considering moving south for some time now (the Immigration move really put the tinhat on it) but my other half still seemed loyal to HH (she's not Thai). However, this topic has made her seriously consider checking out ...

Re: Who said Irish rugby would be forgotten . . .

Oh, & sincere congratulations to the French -- a deserved victory! Personally, I think that they were given the championship by a few moments of Irish lack of concentration and would not really say they deserved it. Getting beat by the English after all was a disastrous result! But if the 6N is...

Re: Who said Irish rugby would be forgotten . . .

Not quite true Troopie - the current format of the six nations is that games are played every weekend with a weekend off in the middle of the tournament. Not really comparing like for like either. Super 14 is not a test match competition, whereas the six nations is. If you think the stress l...

Who said Irish rugby would be forgotten . . .

Well after the delicate northern hemisphere boys took their usual week off (the 6 Nations plays alternate weekends rather than every week like the Super 14), we have another cracking weekend of rugby ahead. The Irish are playing the Jocks (20.30 Thai time), which should ( should ) give them few if a...

'Pork on a spit' at Lolitas? This has gotta be a pretty bad pun/play on words, right?

"Bliss it was in that dawn to be alive" SPOILER

"Bliss it was in that dawn to be alive, but to watch it in Thailand was very heaven." :lach: In case you haven't heard, it was a home win of 43-13! Honour has been satisfied & 80,000+ spectators watched a remarkable game of rugby. I must admit that the BBC's one-sided commentary team (...
