Lack of surviellance by Ministry of Education
After cruising around Hua Hin for some years and being particularly interested in the Education scene, I am amazed by the number of unlicensed schools offering English classes (mostly with a Thai teachers). Also surprised seeing a licenced school now offering Norwegian course (with a Thai teacher) a...

New school in Pranburi
I was delighted to hear that the The Learning Centre is opening a school in Pranburi. Have many friends in the Pranburi / Pak Nam Pra area who I have heard comments over the past year or so of the lack of a language school, both for themselves and their kids, in the area. And having to travel to Hua...

Re: new international school near black mountain
They also think of opening Year 7 in 2015, but they need at least 15 requests from parents of 10-11 year old children (who will be 11-12 year old the next year). They currently have around 10 requests. So if anyone is interested of putting his/her child to Year 7 of this international school the ne...

Re: Private Thai Language Lessons
Just a friendly warning...
I know of 3 farangs offering private lessons who were deported this year for working without a Work Permit.
Don't forget that there are Thais who read this and other forums.... also some jealous farangs.

Just the opinion of an old lady who likes to intrude in such things.... This school, in my opinion, is the most highly regarded and respected language school in the area. From seamus72 comments, he was aware that the management people were absent for medical reasons. In my opinion he should have PM'...

Re: English Language Conversation classes
Many times I have spoken to expat friends and they often voice the problem of communicating with their partners. And ditto for me to communicate with them.
This sounds great and at such a low price.
Can the teacher communicate in both Thai and English?

Language schools under Immigration investigation
Anyone who has read any of my past posts will know that I am a snoopy old lady. Cut Throat Pricing in Language school
I see that a particular language school is now offering Ed Visa for about 1/3 of the norm. In addition, for a payment to Immigration of Baht 12,000, they will get you a 12 month Extension To Stay. My understanding is that such schools can only offer 3 monthly extensions. Is this legal? Then again, T...

I think I know where you mean. I have also visited there. Owner manages a local guest house and told me that she only drops into the school now and then. Personality, I did not like her attitude and eventually enrolled at WECI. Note that I said personality.. she may be great but not my cup of tea.
