Has Your Food Shopping Increased?
I do eat differently in Thailand than I do when in the UK so I can’t make exact comparisons, but I’m fairly certain that overall, my buying costs in the UK are more than they are in Thailand - probably not much in it, but almost definitely they are not cheaper than Thailand. That’s based on my shopp...

Re: Has Your Food Shopping Increased?
I usually have Mcgarrett oats for breakfast and was surprised to find that the price had gone up from about B42 to B55 in Villa for 400g packet. The price has been about B40-B42 for years. Does anyone know why there is such a large price increase? I don’t know why they have increased so much, but I...

Re: Chiang Mai Listed Where Couple Can Retire for US$1,500/month
Chiang Mai is also listed as the most polluted city on Earth. I'm amazed at that. Having visited Chiang Mai (admittedly years ago) but also many polluted cities in China and several other locations around the world including the likes of Delhi, Bhopal, Calcutta, Mumbai (you get the gist with India)...

Last week we ate out at a local restaurant and I had a Thai Green curry, my wife had a vermicelli salad - we had a takeaway Green Curry for my stepson, a small bottle of water and a large Leo for 310 Baht - in the UK you’d pay that for just the beer.

Re: Has Your Food Shopping Increased?
Groceries in the UK have always been cheaper than in Thailand where, apparently, "there is no inflation," :banghead: That’s a bit of a sweeping statement. I’m not talking about inflation but groceries are definitely a case of, some are cheaper some are more expensive. If you’re looking fo...

Re: Thailand fuel/pump prices
And how crazy (discriminatory) is it to have increased the minimum wages in some provinces and not others - is their electricity and fuel costs lower?

Thailand fuel/pump prices
It was bound to happen sooner or later - the country is broke and can’t afford to keep on providing subsidies, but of course you’re right that they’ll be protests and prices will rise

Re: Euros 2024
Last night definitely highlighted the fact that the defence is the weakest area ... Lewis Dunk, England centre back...     And yet for Brighton this season he’s been playing really well, hence getting called up. I don’t think it’s necessarily the case that he’s be...

Re: Euros 2024
I don’t know what the Belgium team was like in terms of injuries (obviously no De Bruyne), but England had a lot of first choice players unavailable through injury so difficult to judge the overall performance in relation to how well they might do in the Euros. Last night definitely highlighted the ...
