Re: House Security

Auto lighting, CCTV (inside & out), Alarms, Metal frames inside the windows/doors, Doors with both security hinges & three way bolts, and an electric fence - that's what i've eventually had to install, and we have no guarantees it'll work. I've felt the electric fence when i touched the bana...

Re: Police bust transnational call centre scam gang in Hua H

might not be too difficult getting the lines as these were connected to the internet, anyone can get an internet phoneline for around $25-30. Skype sell them, so would guess there might be cheaper versions in Taiwan via internet.

Re: Train hit car at Soi 94 today

I'll probably get flamed for this one...but there is the possibility the driver was going too fast and could not stop in time, despite having the speed bumps before the crossing. I have on numerous occasions slowed down for the bumps at other rail crossings and seen both cars and motorcycles overtak...

Re: Beer Chang dilemma...

Hi VS Glad i'm not a beer drinker, but being a fellow Scot, i'd feel aggrieved about spending the cash and not being able to get any pleasure from it. Suggest you jump in the ole-Puffer and take what is left back to Tesco's and request a refund - if NP are not receptive, maybe a letter of complaint ...

Re: What glue holds farang-thai couple relationships togethe

My parents will be 61 years married this year and their marriage has outlasted their three sons first attempts at it - two of which have now Thai wives. Mine is from the Northern province of Phitsanulok and a small village, which i like to visit from time to time. In some ways it reminds me of home ...

Re: Train hit car at Soi 94 today

i've sat at the Khun Oy restaurant opposite the crossing on numerous ocassions cringing as you hear the train honk it's horn to warn motorists/cyclists that it's coming, but still people try to beat it across. Fortunately i've never seen anything happen. My thoughts go out to the grieving family at ...

Re: A new Indian Restaurant..

Went when it first opened and they weren't really fast and getting the food out. Have to say the taste was good and the quantity in the portions were okay.
The cook is the guy from the old Indian restaurant out in Takiab before.

Re: Wanted motorbike low miles

I'm thinking of selling my Honda PCX scooter, not sure as i'm not back home at the moment but it has around 1,000 clicks on the meter.
It's about 1yr 4mths old. It might be a bit big as a girlfriends bike though.

Re: Life in Thailand Poll No.2 (Financial discrimination)

IMO if your in a foreign country the last thing wanted is a financial loan of any kind as you just don't know when the Bank or the Country will decide to call on these, I don't know what a persons rights would be here, but don't think they would be anything like back in the person's home country. Th...

Re: Changes to Better the Forum

As a relative newcomer to this forum, although i've lived in HH for the past 4years (in between work). All forums have their peaks and troughs in posting and its usually the core posters that keep it going in the lows. Usually, i'm a peripheral poster, read many items and post now and again - one th...

T,I.G.R. O.K. Lung Per, then what tag would you apply to these posts? Whatever you call it I'm quite surprised no-one else has noticed or cares about how these posts reflect on HHAD, and each of us by association. I've re-read what i wrote and i can't see what your gripe is? I don't think i've stere...

Re: Are the Russians coming to Hua Hin?

Just to clarify--I'm a yank, but have lived more time in both (Greater) London and in Moscow than I have in the US. Almost all my close friends are British or Russian (Or in a few cases both) I've heard the terms used by Bozzman101 used to describe tourists from the US, UK Russia, Germany, the Neth...
