Re: What will your kids do after they finish education?
I'm so glad I'm not a kid reading all this drivel about my future, I might be tempted to just top myself! Such an interesting question has been reduced to IGCSE's and A Levels, no wonder most of them are in such an unpleasant state by the age of 16. For me (and my kids) education starts young, very ...

Re: Robotics at Somtawin
Yes it's a matter of misunderstanding. When I say "My 8 year old boy", it doesn't mean my 8 year old son , it means the 8 year old son of my wife, to which I am guardian, who chooses to attend Somtawin (Thai side) because he likes it there! My daughter likes Yamsaard School and so she goes...

Re: Robotics at Somtawin
Very interesting topic, My 8 year old boy is excellent at building mechanised motorised machines from Meccano. We buy these sets. See link http://www.wonderlandmodels.com/products/meccano-30-model-set/ He started with Lego at age 5, and when he completely exhausted everything we moved onto Meccano. ...

Re: 150 baht fee to be charged to foreign ATM cardholders
Hi Brianks, I am not familiar with Aeon and would like to get this nailed down. Are you saying that as long as your bank card has a visa sign on it, it doesn't matter what country your bank is in, nor whether your card is a debit card or a credit card, you can withdraw up to the amount your bank all...

Re: IMHO Yamsaard school
Second year as a Yamsaard School parent and I'm pleased to say that things are looking up. At the end of last academic year, I was seriously thinking about other alternatives. However, I couldn't justify taking my kid away from such good friends without a little more perserverence. Improvements: The...

Re: Evening/Weekend Beginner Computer Classes
Hi Bapak, You could try Wang Klai Kang Won School - adult (continuing education) program (The school on the same soi as the palace). My wife has studied many things there and I'm pretty sure they have basic computer classes like Intro to Windows etc. The standard of teaching there is very good and b...

Re: [ADVERTORIAL] Alternative International Education in Hua
Padma, Thank you very much for your over-generous reply. It does show just how so much can happen from pooling together. However, I actually believe that as well as a whole range of opportunities, young people also need to get stability from routine. It may be difficult to learn skills well enough f...

Hello Padma,
Can you tell me what facilities you have there?
and
What specialist tuition do you offer? eg. languages, music/singing, drama, sports etc

Re: Looking for private thai school for 3 kids
Hi Nille, I think you should visit Yamsaard School Hua Hin website and also put it on your list of schools to visit. My daughter has had a great year there. It's a bilingual school with both a Thai teacher and a foreign teacher assigned as homeroom teachers for every class. It costs the same as Somt...

Thanks for opening this very interesting topic. I have thought long and hard about my family situation with a view to finding the best solution for all of us and I keep going round in circles! However, I think for my family (wife and 2 young kids living here in Hua Hin), the early years are best spe...

When my daughter was one, I had the same idea to get her christened in that Catholic church. So I went along and spoke to a priest there and he was pretty vague but it seemed to just amount to bringing her along. A couple of weeks later, I brought her along to the Sunday service and in the middle of...
