Re: 'How To' - Requirements for visa extensions etc

Today I went to the Hua Hin immigration office for my yearly extension. For " evidence of having income of no less than Baht 65,000 per month " , I always take a letter from the Dutch embassy which states my monthly pension. In the previous years, this letter was always accepted as suffici...

Re: 120KPH Comes Local

It is even more complicated: The Max. 120 Kph lane also has a blue sign of 100Kph meaning that there is a MINIMUM speed limit of 100Kph for this lane.

Re: GPS purchase

I purchased a Thai map for my European Garmin Nüvi, 5 years ago and used it in both continents. Last year I took my Nüvi to the Garmin Service center on Sathon road in Bangkok, to have the latest map installed, because over the time, several roads were added or modified . I have been driving from Ba...

Re: World Cup 2014

NL – CR: 0 – 0. Costa Rica played very rigid, against the Netherlands. From the start it was clear that they did not have an intention to win and by all means eliminate Robben, who was lucky that he did not have to leave the pitch in a stretcher. CR were hoping to repeat their performance against Gr...

Re: World Cup 2014

An interesting game for tonight is Germany vs Algeria. Algeria still have an outstanding score to settle with Germany which lasts from 1982, known as the “Nichtangriffspakt von Gijón” or “disgrace of Gijón”. The tournament in which, Germany and Austria both settled for a result that put them both th...

Re: World Cup 2014

Robben was up to his old tricks - after 3 dives he finally got the penalty that sealed Hollands (lucky) win. I don't agree that the win was lucky. It all went according to plan. So Netherlands got one penalty, where they actually could have gotten 2. OK. Admit one of the 3 was a dive, but the other...

Re: Where did you meet your Thai wife?

I met my wife in the Netherlands. She was working for Thai Airways and on one of her trips she decided to stay a few days in Amsterdam. We got to talk and I offered to take her around. Since that moment she came to see me several times. One year later, I decided to go to Thailand for the first time ...

More to Prachuap Khiri Khan than sun, sea and sand

Proximity to the capital may be making Hua Hin a victim of its own success; venture a bit farther afield, though, and your efforts will be rewarded

Re: Bringing Dogs to Thailand from the UK

Thanks d-m for posting the link. Mrs. B has already called the DLD, because we were worried, that we had to leave our dogs behind for 30 days, when entering Thailand. The officer of the DLD explained that the quarantine area is already full with all kinds of animals, which enter Thailand. So they al...

Re: Bringing Dogs to Thailand from the UK

We are preparing a similar exercise to bring 2 dogs from the Netherlands in November and we compared the costs of several airlines, which fly directly from Amsterdam to Bangkok. KLM charges € 200,- per dog. (max 75 Kg.) China airlines and Eva air charge € 63,- per kilo as excess baggage. Se we decid...
