Update: My friend who was hit with a stray bullet was in the ICU for a few days, but is expected to make a full recovery. Other details are still very sketchy, and I am waiting to hear from him directly. I'll post them when I hear more. I'm sure everyone is concerned with safety in the Hua Hin area,...

Hua Hin tourist shot?

Everyone,
I received word today that a friend of mine was hit in the back by a ricochet bullet at Hin Nam. He's in the ICU. Does anyone have any information about this? I'm in South Korea, so I'm way out of the loop, and would greatly appreciate if someone could confirm these reports.

To all, I think I met Dave once in person, at a HHAD party. I may be wrong, as I was only at the gathering for a smattering of minutes. I don't post terribly often on the forum, but read often, and in that regard, Dave was no stranger to me. His posts were helpful and insightful, especially as I oft...

Under 50 Retirement Visas

Just out of curiosity...I've seen a lot on the board about retirement visas for those over 50, and it seems that it the biggest deciding factor comes down to a significant savings or steady amount of income. If someone were substantially well off (definitely not me) and under 50, would it be possibl...

School across from Hua Hin Airport

Hey everyone,

I was hoping someone could help me out. I'm looking for the name of the school across from the Hua Hin airport, and if it has a website or any other contact info.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

A friend of mine sent me this a while ago. Interesting and relevant enough to get posted here. I was just trolling the internet for sundry knowledge, and came across the following paragraph depicting the struggle of a dynamic fighting force against a static fighting force. I’ve taken out three key...

A different Hua Hin - Or a different mindset?

Hey everyone, I must say before I begin, that this post is entirely my own experience and therefore my own opinion. While I would like to think that I am being objective, I am reminded that objectivity (at least from the academic perspective) seems to be an unattainable goal. I have traveled to Hua ...

Webster University

It seems that with every new semester, I find a few people asking me my opinions about Webster University. Typically, these posts are limited to "What can you tell me about Webster" or the like. I thought it may be useful for me to post my opinions for everyone to read. First off, I must s...
