Re: favorite thai food.
There is now a sign up under the flyover south of town pointing to the driveway to the dirt road that Tamarind restaurant is on, but it says Ma Cham. I have heard people call it by both names but in the past the signs were only in Thai. Is that (Ma Cham or Ma Kham) phonetic for the name of the Tama...

Re: Damnoen Saduak Floating Market
Personally, I am not very keen of Damnoen Saduak floating market. I very much prefer Ampawa. Ampawa has a good Thai atmosphere. On the week end it is a bit over crowded but really nice. After visiting Ampawa, you may have a "longtail" tour on the klongs at twilight, have a dinner in one of...

Re: Hua Hin - The Good, The Bad & The Ugly.
You are both right in a way. Hello Margaret, You're right... There have been a few strong words but I do believe that is more a misunderstanding that anything else. It's always difficult to explain something or give a feeling when you're sitted behind a screen. I'm sure those words would have been ...

Re: Kor Sor restaurant
As part time residents in Bo Fai we went to Kor Sor last time we were at home, in September. We thought it was really really good. Beautiful setting, good and reasonably priced menu, very good and friendly service. Highly recommended if its still as good as it was when we went. Let us know how you ...

Re: Need a new 7 seater car.
[I have discounted a BMW x3 as they don't have a good rep here in UK. Two friends had one and both had no end of trouble with them. My son runs one in BKK and has no pbs. However, that's true, some X3 have gotten problems (Gear box ???). I know that Volvo has no image in Thailand but maybe you coul...

Re: Need a new 7 seater car.
What she will need is a full 7 seater SUV or similar, as she will require room for in laws and family for several journeys. Hi Khundon1975, I have the same need and my choice will go on the Toyota Fortuner. This is a good heavy duty car, for around 1,5 million THB. It's roomy, 7 seaters and the 3 l...

Dsl wi-fi modem/router
Hi all, I have a suscription with ToT. Could be better but it works. I had last year a modem with ethernet connexion. I changed it for a wifi modem/router (laptop, iPhone...) but the coverage is not that good. I'd like to get a new wifi modem with an improved coverage (mimo ?) and on which I could p...

Re: Pergola
Hi Virmand I have built one behind my house. It's made from recycled teak which much cheaper. I paid 90 000 THB, including a ceiling made from polycarbonate, a swinging fan and light. More details here: http://www.thaigardendesign.com/photos/pergola_design_and_instal/index.html The pergola shown is ...

Re: Oman Airlines?
I used Oman Air several times, including last time wife, daughter and 3 grand children, and never had to complain. Luggage weight allowance, a pitch of 86 cm between seat rows, friendly staff, good food (for an airline) and we paid last July 587 euros per passenger. I will return to HH beginning Jan...
