Re: British girl raped in Kanchanaburi

We all know the love of brits to be drunk. This girl wasn't alone. She was with a group and what about the responsability of those brits to leave her alone in such a pitiful state? I would wait until the facts come out before making comments like this. I'm a Brit and I was on that street on the nig...

Re: British girl raped in Kanchanaburi

Now being reported that two Thai men are in custody. Be nice to learn that Thai workers on that street gave police the information.

British girl raped in Kanchanaburi

Have just read that a British girl was raped in Kanchanaburi in the early hours of Tuesday morning, approx 01.30. This is particularly shocking to me because I walked along that street at about 01.00 as I was staying in a guest house on the very road that it seems she was abducted from. The posts on...

Re: Thaivisa Owner To Appear in Hua Hin Court

There is a news report posted on ThaiVisa this morning about a British girl being raped in Kanchanaburi, take a look at the comments on that thread and then judge the standard of so many of the expats in Thailand, and in particular the TV frequenters!

Re: 22 injured in Pranburi bus crash

In the UK currently and have driven from London to Cornwall, then up to Leicester and back down to Somerset in the last 10 days. It is really noticeable how much safer the roads are, drivers are more patient and leave a safe braking distance, obviously having virtually no motorbikes and specific mot...

Re: How much water do you need?

Definitely did the pinch test : )

Seems everyone is different, few cups of tea and a carton of juice do the trick for me, never feel thirsty, light headed or any other symptoms during a normal day, when I play golf I drink a couple of litres and some m sport.

Re: Africans held over fake passports in Hua Hin

Spent a few day in Bangkok last weekend in Bang Kapi/Ladprao area, was shocked at the number of Africans that seemed to be living in the area, not sure what visas they are using as they were mostly aged 30-40.

Re: Mudslides and flooding in South Thailand worsens

I have spent the last 3 weeks in Samui and Phuket doing some research and I am so glad to be back in sunny HH. Stuck in Surat Thani one night because the main highway was closed between there and Chumphon, hope people don't criticise Thailand too much about this as I doubt any country could have cop...

Re: Central Embassy plan unveiled

The 4 acres that Britain sold off for almost $100 million was the noisiest and most air polluted part of their 13 acre site. Unfortunately Brown got his hands on it and probably spent it on 10,000 new jobs assessing the needs of pregnant Somali women in the East end of London.

Re: Shots and artillery fire on Cambodia border

So what you seem to be saying is that Cambodia has the strongest claim because it belonged to an empire based in that region that ceased to be 700 years ago! Britain better claim back America, Canada, Australia etc etc based on that argument. The Thais conquered the Khmers in the 14th century, that'...

Re: Shots and artillery fire on Cambodia border

LP, I agree, men have to fight sometimes, it's natural. Smash Cambodia out of this Siam land and to hell with the international response, once it's back in Thai hands it would never be lost again. I loved the Falklands war because the people there are British and want to stay that way, if we ever ga...

Re: Shots and artillery fire on Cambodia border

Thing is this was Siam land until the French came along and grabbed this little piece because it had a nice temple, look at the map and it's quite clear. If this was English land and the French had grabbed it 100 years ago we would just smash them out of there and not give a damn about the UN or any...

Re: 2010 tourist visitors exceeded expectations...

I believe the figures, trouble with us farangs is we can attach too much importance to ourselves. I haven't looked closely at the figures but I'm guessing a lot of growth from the Middle East, India and other Asian countries, certainly plenty of flights coming in from those places every day, I came ...

Unfortunately "Human rights organisations' do themselves no favours and lose a lot of credibility by issuing ridiculous and annoying statements. Whenever that Chakrabati woman comes on BBC news I have to restrain myself from kicking the cat as she spouts on about the rights of economic migrants...
