Re: Immigration online guest registration for hotels/guesthouses

As far as I know in order to be able to do the online reporting first Immigration must assign you a login code and password. So go visit them. I can imagine that you need the house-book etc. Nothing to do with being a business or not, just for them to check that the authorized person/owner is doing ...

Re: IKTS 2016/2017

Hi buksida,

Same as last year. Doesn't let me enter the code. Only an Apply button to click. Did that. Now you have to let me in.
Could be the same for other people.

Re: expedia booking

Not Expedia's fault. If you received the booking confirmation then so did the hotel. That the hotel manager with the password is not there that week or the staff noticed the confirmation was in English so decided to ignore it, is also not Expedia's fault. Happens all the time in the smaller Thai hot...

Re: Disappointing Hotel Service

Three structural problems that I encountered through the years dealing with Thai owned hotels as part of my job. Firstly there is a tendency for rich Thais to buy a hotel as a prestige hobby object. They haven't got a clue about the hospitality industry as they make their money with gasoline station...

Re: Employing a Thai

Cheap labour makes it possible but is not the reason. Why would any employer hire 5 when 2 can do the job even with low wages. It is simply to compensate for their lack in efficiency. To the OP: friend of mine tried to monitor Thai staff from Europe. One disaster after another. He ended up offering ...

Applying for non-O Retirement in Kuala Lumpur

Anyone personal experience with a recent application for a non-O visa based on retirement in Kuala Lumpur. First I planned to go to Penang because I like the place and the convenience of dropping your passport with one of the agents and get it back the next day hassle free. But I contacted both Bana...

Re: Thai Driver's License Renewal

So far so good with my observation:

For new 1-year license and for upgrade from 1-year to 5 year Med. Cert. required.
For renewal from existing 5-year to new 5-year NO Med. Cert. required.

It doesn't make sense but we all know it does not have to.

Re: Thai Driver's License Renewal

My wife renewed her motorbike license yesterday here in Phuket. Prices should be the same everywhere in the country. She paid 355 Baht. There seems to be structural confusion and discrepant reports whether you need a medical certificate or not. At first sight it indeed looks pretty random, but I thi...

Re: Thai News is What it Says on the Tin

They produce the news programs for the uneducated masses so this is what you get (blame it on demand rather than on supply). However it is not fair to compare an average Thai news channel with BBC World. Compare it to a newspaper popular with John Doe back home and you will find a similar bulk of lo...

Re: Photo trip report: Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai loop

Spend quite some time in Chiang Rai myself and never encountered or heard of the smog problem. As far as I know it is a Chiang Mai thing due to its location in a valley completely surrounded by relatively high mountains. Such is not the case with Chiang Rai. Buksida, you should have visited Rico's f...

MajorBloodnok. I think the links you clicked are Ginjaninja's signature and indeed unrelated to your request.

Hoewever you will see that http://www.viooz.ac and http://www.afdah.org lead to your desired movie channels.
