Re: 2018 Football World Cup News and Prediction Tournament

I'm going to wait for the final audit per below before we declare a pool winner. Bamboo is listed as first and that would mean 1 point "results" have more value than 3 point "exacts". I personally don't understand that thinking, but if that's their system, that's their system. Lets wait and see. Pet...

Re: The Car Challenge

I'm not even sure what year it is. They both retire in about 20 years so perhaps they'll sell it then.

Re: The Car Challenge

No, its not a Sunbeam, Pete. But your daughter sure has a rare car there! Yes, they drive it and clean it about once a month and then it sits waiting for the value to go ever higher. They've had it for about 10 years already. I should have taken a photo of the engine. First one I've seen in decades...

Re: Pattaya Marathon 2018

I don't do them... , the wife does. She just did 42km at the Thai Marines Sattahip last Sunday (which turned out to be a memorial run for the cave diver who died as he participated in all the running events over here, she knew him), so no way her body is ready for another so soon. It takes h...

Re: The Car Challenge

If that red one is a Sunbeam Tiger he's done something to it, or it's a fiberglass body kit. Look at the fender areas over the wheels bubbled out, and the door frame dips. That's not factory standard IMO. Pete

TWEET! Red Card.....violation of Rule 211, introducing non-regulation balls to the field of play.

Re: The Rugby Thread

With the exception of the Crusaders, the New Zealand teams are not dominating this year as they've done in the past. I think there may be a reasonable chance to see the All Blacks beaten by someone during upcoming tournaments. Pete

Yes, I looked it up after yesterday's clues. Definitely not something taught in schools there unless you're a history major at university I would think. Pete

Re: History Challenge

Wasn't in the curriculum but I'll guess it was after or something to do with a war....blood spilt, heart felt love of country etc. Perhaps WWI?

Re: Create a Word

For some unknown reason I've always liked combining words with the same last and first letters into one word. No idea why, some black defect in my subconscious no doubt :alien: It would probably only work with adjectives followed by a noun, but I haven't really thought about it too deeply. I just no...
