Re: Hua Hin Forum software upgrade

Mine does the same thing because of my bookmark which had the www address. Change that bookmark and put in the new one from Norseman's link and it should hold and you won't see the www any longer. Pete

Edit: Both www and no www works and you'll still see the forum page you're going to.

Re: Europe travel

I been told that wearing tan khaki long pants is a dead giveaway that you're a Yank. Beware! I used to wear them all over the place there in the 80's and it seemed like locals were wearing them also. So, things have changed or the whole thing is BS. Pete

Re: Trouble sleeping after Japanese food

You're right, Tofu by itself is a tasteless substance. The Japanese serve it many different ways though and it can be very tasty and a normal side dish with a Japanese meal. Pete

Re: Trouble sleeping after Japanese food

Last night was Japanese night this week and the problem was not the tofu as I had none, but used soy sauce. Little if any sleep, disgusted and up after 3 hours. Noticed some minor lip swelling last night. Perhaps not the first time but never noticed it before and was alert to it because of one of th...

I look at the poll up there and my gut is telling me it's going to be some dark horse, maybe a team not even on the poll. :D Pete

What is your Passion in Life?

This in a way is a follow on to Vital Spark's thread "Pivotal moments in life" . What is it that you would really love to be doing that you're not. Everyone has that little niggle in the back of their head, probably since childhood, that you would like to be doing something but for one reason or ano...

Re: Trouble sleeping after Japanese food

MSG. It is in many Japanese dishes. It can keep you awake, cause headaches and diarrhea. That stuff is everywhere over here. They shovel it in by the spoonful in Thai weetiel (sp) soup and dry, and most all Thai food. The same in HK, China, Singapore etc. If MSG is my problem then everything has to...

Re: Snakes in the house and garden

They, unlike many snakes, do not run away therefore it's easy to walk up on one which is not good. We had one last year that the dog found. Relocated him easily. I've read where they are small, but deadly. Thankfully they haven't found a way through Bangkok yet and into the East. Our problem over h...

Re: Trouble sleeping after Japanese food

Now that is interesting and worthy of more research. At least I am not alone it appears. Pete  .......To get back on topic, I had Japanese lunch for last 2 days, and both nights I had sleeping difficulties and mild fever. Previously, I’ve had mild fever after eating Tuna. My perception is th...

Re: Trouble sleeping after Japanese food

Try having lunch as your main meal and only a snack for dinner. Never go to bed with a full stomach. It's good for not only sleeping but controlling weight. Yes, thanks. It's good advice and has been for a long time. The question is who can actually do it. Afternoon is very busy for me around the h...

Re: Trouble sleeping after Japanese food

Could be but....it happens with take-away as well which we usually get once a week. In fact the eat in Japanese dinners far out number eating at the restaurant...(daughters school schedule, sports, homework etc.) I've just been thinking, and I've never considered that tofu or any form of soy could b...
