Re: Foreign applicants for Thai bank accounts facing new crackdown

I was just getting my paperwork ready to open a Thai account for my visa, and now I’m not sure what to do. Has anyone managed to get an account recently? Maybe try one of the big banks in person-Bangkok Bank or Kasikorn-with your passport, visa, and proof of address.

Re: British tourist beaten to death

My thoughts are with his family and friends – I hope the authorities get to the bottom of what happened.

Re: Secure lock up storage

I’ve used a spot called Hua Hin Self Storage on Soi 94 (just off Phetkasem Road). They’ve got small lockers and units, 24/7 CCTV, and you can rent month-to-month. I paid about 500 THB a month for a small locker, but give them a call to check what sizes they’ve got. There’s also a place on Soi 112 ca...

Re: Secure lock up storage

They’ve got small units perfect for a few boxes or a suitcase, it’s fenced, there’s CCTV and you get your own key. Month-to-month rentals so you’re not tied down.

Re: Plumber, Electrician, Handyman required.

I used Hua Hin Handyman – they installed my toilets, showers, and added extra sockets. Really nice folks and prices were fair. You can find them on Facebook. If you’d rather hire separately, P’Nok the plumber and P’Ton the electrician are both reliable.

Re: Australia pension

They said you’d get an extra $73, but you only got 13 cents? Sounds like a mix‑up. Maybe give it a day or two—sometimes the top‑up comes separately-or ring Centrelink to see what’s going on.

Re: Khao Takiab sunbeds

Near the pier you’ll find a row of sunbeds with umbrellas and drink service. They’ll bring beers, cocktails or soft drinks right to your spot-just wave or press the little button on the table.
