Guess it’s like anywhere else in Thailand. Guesthouses and cheaper hotels are mostly guest friendly, while more expansive, often family hotels, are not.

In Phuket I saw a police officer sleeping beside the toilets in the bar with a gun under his head.

I wanted to take a picture, but I figured that it probably wouldn't be a good idea. :guns:

How is the weather in July/August?

I think my boss will force me too take a couple of week’s vacation in the summer, and I see the flights are really inexpensive at that time a year.

Is it always raining, or is it just in the afternoon? Ok to swim? What about the nightlife?
