Re: Bus to Bangkok

I know you can get the bus from Pranburi to BK I can,t remember if it went through HH. Must of though. What luxury compared to the vans of death. The southern terminal is a problem though. Therese no real way out of there without a taxi. BTS promise a new station there this year. TIT. The taxi to th...

Re: 30 day visa run/stamp

This story gets a little convoluted. I trust that hhad members may have enough brain cells left to understand it. I DON'T. Ok. Swedish man marries Thai lady has kids and 10 years later still happy. she visits LOS on Swedish passport She used Swedish passport because the Thai one is out of date. Are ...

Re: 30 day visa run/stamp

As has been said, a border run, arriving here by land or sea, will only give 15 days without a visa. If arriving by air, you get 30. There's no longer any theoretical limit to how many times you can do this (or any limit within a specified time period). That said, there's another good reason why yo...

Re: Breathalyser & Blood - fair test?

Thanks R. This is second hand and I am assured it is true. Guy on a big bike in HH gets stopped by bib. By his own admission was pissed as a fart. The loyal governemt workers demanded 20k baht for this sin obviously the money would go the lokal temple. Didn't have all the cash so marched off to atm ...

Re: Breathalyser & Blood - fair test?

In Paknampran they were given a few breathalyser machines from Bangkok a year or so ago. Unfortunately or fortunately they practised so much on each other and I suspect some policemen may have been a little bit positive. They used all the mouth pieces with no replacements. So feel free to drink and ...

Re: Netbooks at Tesco Lotus in Pranburi? Which Brands?

I suggest not buying from Pranburi Tesco. I tried to buy a desk top for my step daughter. When i inquired what was inside. I was met by the oriental glazed look. Chi chi it's electrical stuff. If you leave Tescos and turn left venture on Phetchacasm road. About 2 kms just past the Honda car place. I...

Why oh why does every one put your stuff in a plastic bag. They reach for the plastic bag before even registering it on the c...

getting an English marriage certified at the British embassy

Hi guys this must have been round before, but I can't find it on a search. Planning on visiting Bangkok next week to get my English marriage certificate married to my lovely Thai wife. (Yes she reads english) verified at the British embassy. I am assuming (how very quaint. But I am from Norfolk). Or...

Re: Mosquitos in April?

Hi Glendav. as dtaai-maai says quite rightly, insect reppelents are available here at any decent pharmacy and usually cheaper than europe. However expats can be a little complacent. I have been myself. Malaria, dengue fever, Japanese Encephalitis and a few other diseases can be transmitted by those ...

However i need to open a bank account in LOS. I need to bring an international cheque. My bank are confused about whether or not it should be i...

Re: Hull Consul

The only problem i have had with the Hull embassy was when my visa was not sent, nearly 2 weeks after i had applied. Getting close to my flight i was perspiring profusely. I sent an e mail and they informed me they had sent my visa but they were aware that the post office sometimes just doesn't both...

Hi Margaret.
hate to state the bleeding obvious.
Have you tried e mail?
Only used that once and the response was brilliant.
