I'll think you'll find that those Thai weekenders, and some full timers of Hua Hin, can afford 'western prices for luxury goods' just fine.Thais paying western prices for luxury goods doesn't equate.

Re: European Championship 2016
Poor form on the part of Mr. Ronaldo IMO. :tsk: You win any way you can win (legally), and tough luck to Portugal for not being able to figure out and penetrate their defense. Re: Thai News is What it Says on the Tin
Top news today - a cow run over by a mini-bus. Must have commanded at least 5 minutes. That was closely followed by a young kiddie chasing a chicken almost being run over. Mrs BB loves it. Absolutely mind numbing. I asked a group of (wealthy and well educated)15-16 year old kids this morning about ...

Re: Thai News is What it Says on the Tin
I would think there is no international history, geography or political sciences taught at Thai schools. All that matters is Thailand Based on...? Take a group of your average Thai 17-yr-olds and pit them against a similar group of British or American students, and I don't think there would be a hu...

Re: European Championship 2016 Prediction League
Our resident football expert Pharvey is now sprinting ahead in the race for the title. Only him and Pete managed to grab any points last night. I must say that, after looking through my picks this round, I wasn't particularly confident about any of them. Anyway, well done Pharvey you jammy g...

What's the deal with the head to head points? Do they get added on to your score?

Re: European Championship 2016 Prediction League
Russia's injury time goal cost me 2.25 points, I had the game at 1-0, what a bummer. All in all quite happy. Who knew, our resident rugby stalwart was also so good at wendy ball predictions. Well done pharvey, the chase is on. Idiot over here decided to change Sweden from 1-1 to 2-1 at the last min...

I thought the full backs did a good job. As did the pundits so you're maybe in the minority there.

Re: European Championship 2016
Did anyone else just lose eight minutes of the Turkey - Croatia game on Thai Expat TV (ITV1)? Got stuck at 71 minutes and finally came back at 79 minutes. Better not start doing that during the England games!

I can vouch for the seafood bbq/buffet place too. I think I managed to get in 6 large Changs, 30 odd chicken wings, a plate of larb and a couple of big squid. All for 399 baht. Sandy The Dog even got a large bag of chicken bones upon my return. They made no money off me. Dustbins like myself in each...

Re: European Championship 2016
I think our canny, lifelong,Arsenal fan arcadian is making a subtle reference to the England striker,Harry Kane, who gave a lethargic performance last night apart from taking corners ! After England scored I think Woy should have substituted 'Arry for Vardy who could have run at the Russian defence a...

Proper posh twat doesn't even cut it. Bit of a 'laddish' critique from an education professional... His CV is pretty impressive, and he appears to have worked hard over many years to get where he is. I'm not sure his accent is relevant. Your grievance sounds personal - bit of a chip on the shoulder...

If they can get enough children in. Imagine having David Cameron (along with his 'people skills') as the headmaster of your child's school. That's how it will be. Achieving a Masters at Oxford and PHD at Cambridge (something like that anyway) - the man's a demi-god, looking down from above at all us...
