Caller, Have just taken the Grand Hotel at a very reasonable price. Eventually I bartered them down from 1,280 baht to 80 baht. Apparantly I have to do all refurbishments myself, which when calculated comes to an astonishing 1,000,000,000 baht. Shall try to pay it at 10 baht a month. :thumb:...

Hi Pagey, Have been coming to Thailand for 12 years and have been settled here in Hua Hin for 3. The way I see it is if you can afford to be without the 60k expected salary for 2 years and not worry about it you have no problems. I live here on minimal wages yet I would still not begin to think abou...

More Pattaya ex-cons. :agree: Also could we possibly do without more 'Mcdonalds drive through' style police boxes. It does not help if you are trying to take them seriously. Another one... Police with whistles situated in places where there is no other option but to go straight on. Peep Peep.... ye...

Is it possible that in trying to adapt to a country and improve certain aspects of the country we are NOT talking about complete "Westernisation"!!!! I for one have no intention of staying here if "Amazing Thailand" becomes "Amazing Thailand (run by farang laws.....now)"...

Catch Them While They Are Young

Thought this post would be beneficial for members or future members on the forum to give an insight into the way most Thai nationals will teach thai or farang children how to speak English. As stated before, parents have different needs concerning their child. Some parents want them to speak Thai ve...

Went to get a wisdom tooth pulled out nearly two weeks ago. Went to Dentist 2000 first and they informed me it was going to cost 3000 baht. :cuss: Tried the dentist opposite All In Hua Hin ( not Dr Nikorns, the other one ) I think the one which ADW is talking about and he was very good in my opinion...

Edited: decided expressing my views on somtawin management may be a bad idea
Very informative first post 'dee mak mak'.

Could you fill us in as we are open to constructive critisism yet some are lacking the vocabulary to do so, so can only opt for slander.

Understood Terry, After speaking to parents that were pulling kids out of Somtawin the main reason given was the minimal amount of Thai lessons as you have stated. Others just simply didn't like the school. All I can say is that all the teachers we have here really are working their socks off to try...

From what I've seen thus far I'm very impressed, which is more than I could say about 4 years of Somtawin - who seem to have lost the plot. That's spot on as all of us are really moving backwards here at Somtawin rather than trying to improve!! There are some good teachers at Somtawin but unfortuna...

With more police per person than any other town in Thailand trust me it's safe SHADOW I'm not sure if you read the 'What!!!' thread so I will mention this again. 3:30 in the morning. Enter police station to report 3 crashes. Old guy looks at me behind desk. "Police sleep already, come tomorrow...

Gooze, This thread was started with no intention of attacking you or your development. It was actually started to attack the 'sleeping police' but it was mentioned how housing developments are 1 OF THE CAUSES of flooding on the roads. Neither do I know you or the wherabouts of your development so I ...

Surely there must be one who can reply????????????? Very good questions/requests......yet to be ans...

I would have thought that before you developed a site you would conduct an impact survey or risk assesment. Of course not because, if there was a pre-assesed risk towards building where they are building, that means no building which means no money. Unfortunately H20Dunc we live in a world of high ...

I would just like to say also that can we stop using 'TIT' as an excuse for the goings on in this country. Things can be done about certain problems yet the easier way out is a polite 'mai pen rai' If you still use 'TIT' as a problem solver then you have been here too long ( 20-30 years ) and can't ...
