Re: Why Thais get triggered when westerners say “Ni Hao” to them?
While the Thai person has completely overreacted, it's a bit naff of the Russians to have used "Ni Hao" to a Thai. It would be like going up to an English person in the middle of the English countryside and saying, "Guten Tag" or "Buongiorno," to them. And would that p...

Re: Can the AI tech for Tiger's new golf league change golf?
I just watched some the opening event. Three holes was enough for me. It's a cross between a video game, pinball machine, and some sorts of MMA
announced affair. Lots of lights and sensationalism. I'm pretty sure I won't be watching any more of it.

If you are buying breakfast and bringing your own tea they should just give you that hot water at no charge along with a hearty handshake.

Aye - it's crap. My daughter offered me a taste which I knew I was not going to like since it's sugar free and it proved to be crap. Only the barest hint of anything to do with Oreo.

Re: Army Cadets Briefcases
I would make a small wager that the Yanks, and whatever influence they might have, don't have a thing to do with it. We try to blame the Yanks for everything but this is just silly. They don't go trotting into town with "briefcases" each and everyone.

Re: New luxury train route in Vietnam offers stunning coastal views..
Except it does not work quite like that. I've been on their "scenic" coastal train and the first thing the locals do when they enter the carriage is to pull all the curtains so that not a drop of sunshine can get in and certainly there is nothing to see.

Re: Chiang Mai Listed Where Couple Can Retire for US$1,500/month
^^ I did pretty much the same thing right there in Hua Hin and did it for years. I did not have the same house your friend had but all else much the same. Played pool in the various leagues 4+ times a week, drank beer as I felt, took my pleasures in the same way. I ate mostly Thai food because I lik...
