Presciption Medicine posted from UK

I am in Thailand on a 12 month Visa and do not plan on returning to the UK during that time. Like many of my age (66) I am on prescription medication in the UK (ATORVASTATIN and FELODIPINE). I have priced them in HH and it will cost about 42 pounds/ month. Is there any Thai law that would prevent my...

Thai Driving Licence Update

Got a licence on Tuesday at Pranburi, they no longer require the driving licence photos as they now have a "Smart" machine that takes your picture and pastes it onto the licence (plastic) before printing. They also wanted photo copies of my UK licence (as well as seeing it) and I was very ...

Using a Speedtouch 330 ADSL Modem in Thailand

At home in the UK I use a Speedtouch 330 ADSL modem when connecting to broadband.

Will this work in Thailand (assuming an ADSL connection is avialable) or will I need to buy a new modem?

Many thanks

Nationwide BS & SWIFT

Has anyone used the Nationwide SWIFT facility which now is done by sending a form to Nationwide's HO in Swindon rather than in the Branch, are there any problems? Also, in order to get the best exchange rate I think I need to set the "Currency to be sent" field to "British Pound GB&qu...

ECOSSE is now THE SHED (again)

Stayed at THE SHED for one month in September. Now under new management. Has had a well deserved lick of paint but still at very competative price/s.

Suzy is still there :D , massage lady has gone :( .

Would recommend.

This is why I asked, it looks as if they are tightening up on existing rules! Welcome to the Royal Thai Consulate Birmingham . The Thai authorities have recently announced changes to the way in which they will deal with tourists entering Thailand for up to 30 days without a valid visa and as there i...

Visa situation when arriving and departing by train/bus

I understand that the Visa on arrival will only be granted if you have an AIRLINE ticket out of the country within the 30 day limit. If you arrive and leave by Train or Bus (thats to say are not using airlines) how do you stand with the visa situation?

ECOSSE GUEST HOUSE

:thumb: Have just spent 4 weeks at the ECOSSE guest house. For anyone looking for budget accomodation I can recommend it, I had the cheapest room (315 BT per night when you pay up front) and although it could do with a lick of paint it had AC, fan, double bed, sat TV, free water and coffee/ tea. The...
