Re: Chiang Mai Listed Where Couple Can Retire for US$1,500/month

$1500 a month isn't even enough for a retirement visa ...
... for one person, let alone a 'couple'

Let’s not try to frighten the guy away...  Actually, I'm pretty sure all the info and recommendations he's asked for are already here on the forum. It's just a question of taking the time to have a good look around the forum: The Beach Bar, Feeding Time, Events & Activities, etc....

LAZ Xiaomi 'Flagship' store https://www.lazada.co.th/xiaomi/?spm=a2 ... pId=312472

I run ours when PM2.5 hits 10+, and I think draw on electric is minimal.

Re: Domestic Air Purifiers

They are essential for my wife at this time of year. I have a couple of Xiaomi air purifiers and they are brilliant. They have a constant air quality read out, and if somebody e.g. lights a fire in the vicinity, the reading shoots up and sends the machines into overdrive. Any drop in air quality st...

Re: Buying and storing meat

Meats I'll buy frozen, and if buy fresh, gets cooked that day or next. Anything else gets vacuum sealed and put in freezer. If bought frozen and not vacuum sealed, then thaw it enough to separate, the vacuum seal and in to the freezer.

BYD are knocking 200,000bt off the price of the Atto 3 from May which makes it look a bit more interesting: Really like the Atto 3, and a respected forum member elsewhere, test drove extensively the Atto 3 and MG ZS (our car), and liked them both. Felt ZS had just a wee bit more umph off the line, ...

Re: Photo Trip Report: Camping The North

This was when the trip started to get interesting with a drive on the now famous 1081 mountain road to Sapun, a quaint mountain town also growing in popularity after featuring on Thai TV and social media. We were up that way July 2023, and definitely one of the best drives in Thailand. Overnighted ...

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread

I would be reluctant at this time to purchase an EV. The fear is the continued development of battery technology could make your EV almost redundant (and therefore worthless) overnight. I am sure they will become more efficient with improved range and quicker battery charging but who knows when? An...

Re: Thailand's feral rooster infestation

Haven't noticed yet, with exception of yesterday :D rarely see or hear them, and we live kind of rural, PKK midway between Hua Hin & Ban Krut. Yesterday we had a rooster fly in hard against one of the window. If not thicker than normal, surely would have came through. Poor thing bounced off into...

That's it litmus test for intelligent level of a country. Will they have vans with petrol for the ICEV owning idiots ? The have had that facility for years, petrol and diesel! That's not a good sign. That's scary, there's actually that many that need such a service, that it's viable to have. Especi...

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread

To be honest, I'm still rather attracted to the idea of driving around for free on solar charging in Thailand. All these arguments against ev's seem pretty trivial to me when stacked against not having to spend a thousand odd baht at the filling station every few days. That's a pretty big plus to m...

Is that for breakfast or lunch buffet ?? lunch Most definitely can't be much for that price 😉 ... "About 250 baht, so don't expect much." If 1 or 2 things are interesting, then easy to have 2 nice plates of food + salad + sugar desserts w/something to wash 'em down. So that's nice pig out...
